There is already a report for that. I just posted my findings here too, because it seems like it is connected:
YUP Hence the wish list.. LOL!!
There is another problem with reflections. TAA and DLSS combine data for consecutive frames to improve the image. Angular speed and depth of each pixel is taken into account, to match pixels from different frames together. But with reflections, you have 2 sources of data in one pixel .. the original pixel behind the glass .. and the reflection. And TAA and DLSS have problems with that, leading to excessive smearing. Especially if you have trees overlaid over some bright reflection, like digital cockpit instrument, typical situation in helicopter.
DLSS is lot better at sorting this out, TAA does it quite poorly (but has sharper instruments). AFAIK itās fundamental problem of these anti-aliasing/upscaling methods, and it canāt be easily fixed. Except of course, by disabling the reflections.
Flying in the TBM recently, Iāve found these reflections to be overdone and extremely intrusive.
Worse, they are not at all correct. Looking straight ahead, I should see reflections of the flat top of the dashboard, given the law of reflection (angle of incidence = angle of reflection). This is what I see in my car, if I leave something white on top of my dashboard.
What I do actually see in the sim is a reflection of the ground. This is obviously what is happening, as the reflections are constantly moving up as I fly forward, with the colours matching those of the ground (eg red patches) as I fly over them.
In other words, it looks like the relection calculation is being done without the plane surfaces obstructing the rays.
NOTE TO DEVELOPERS: This needs to be fixed. It is not just that the reflections are excessive, it is also that the method of calculation is wrong.
Looking at it from the perspective of vertices, the ground reflection is passing through them, the entire underside of the aircraft. As if the vertices are invisible to the reflection and just pass right through them striking the windshield. Just my 2 cents.
Yes, this is another way of looking at it.
Either way, the reflections are just plainly WRONG, and need to be fixed.
Exactly the same for me in VR! A lot, shining like Christmas lights. Iāve tried to understand if these were related to external light sources, but no, apparently any link with environmentā¦
anybody knows what it is exactly that they fixed in the patches regarding reflections? i dont see any change, the a310 is borderline unusable on a sunny day
Because they didnāt list what aircraft, itās anyoneās guess. This bug has grounded my trip around the world. Iāll settle for an option to turn wind screen reflections off permanently. We may not see a fix for this for months. Iāve given up on the sim for now.

Same here with ICON Aircraft ICON A5 or Guimbal Cabri G2 for example. Windscreen is foggy like a hell, too much reflection or whatever. In fs2020 this is good.
Yup. As @WeamDreaverās post ^^above^^ mentions, a bug topic exists for this. Many aircraft are affected.
I hope they at Asobo allow turn off windshield effects. It is horrible,
It amazes me that the developers didnāt pick this up before release. It makes flying at night almost impossible.
The iniBuilds A300-600 has this problem as well. When the sky is cloudy, the entire ground is reflected in the windshield, making things very disorienting.
Itās just wayyyy too much on most of the aircraft even 3rd party ones that have come over from 2020ā¦
Theyāre still pretty bad, especilly in snowy conditions.
Departing Aspen KASE in the TBM 930 and landing at U42 in Utah
There was a post just above Chewweyās post talking directly about the bug being on a wish list. This is my post. So Iām glad it will be addressed although through a back door so to speak but Iām happy none the less..

What about the reflections on the windscreen from within and outside the cockpit?? its literally wasted fps having to render something that looks ā ā ā ā and no one wants.
You bug is unfortunately not related to the bleed through bug, however there has been discussion about the oblique over saturation of windows inside and out which apparently stems from the import from 2020 planes into 2024. This created the issues you are seeing. I would suggest a search in the bugs list to find it, Iām sure itās there, might have not enough votes? Leaving a short message on the blog āJanuary 30, Development Update Blog Discussionā. wouldnāt hurt.
Cheers

Hey PACO572
Thanks for the reply mate. I do that.
