Do you experience the same when contrails are turned off in SimFX (both Extended and Simulated)?
Not as bad but yes I do . It seems the live traffic or multiplayer , or even ai offline has something to do with this mixing with the mod itself. I love the mod it’s great work , and I have no other traffic mods installed just what is in the game naturally. Thank You guys for taking some concern into this as it is basically on the airliners that I encounter this with and the compatible airlines as outlined in Your forums and aircraft . Live traffic off , it works flawlessly and beautifully.
I am on the latest version, I updated it this morning.
I purchased SimFX and Campout Utility yesterday. I noticed the installation instructions specifically advise against installing into anything BUT the Community folder.
I like a clean Community folder, with nothing but Addon_Linker links in it.
Will I have problems if I put it into AL? Have any of you tried this?

What traffic pack (if any) are you using and what are your PC specs?

For me it was IVAO pack, but I did not try with new update yet
I am using AIG full package. May I ask, what do my PC specs have to do with contrails disappearing too quickly? I’m not having any performance issues with the add-on.
There is still a hit to FPS with AI injected aircraft and SimFX, but it’s now roughly 5-10 FPS. While that’s an improvement, no settings changes in SimFX fix that FPS dip. It doesn’t get worse with high graphics settings, but it doesn’t get better with low settings either.
The only way to mitigate it is to uninstall SimFX, and that’s disappointing.
Edit: Testing further, it seems that the FPS hit may vary by location. I suppose that makes sense at face value, but FSLTL has a hard limit for the number of aircraft it injects at once.
You do not need to uninstall it. Just turn off AI contrails.

I think he would say disable SimFx is only way to recover FPS .
I will try on my rig with a lot of traffic (IVAO MTL Pack) and report back.
Simply disabling things dint do anything. I had to remove it from my community folder entirely.
Unfortunetly I confirm with last build SimFix AI environment contrails cause big FPS drop and its unusable for me sorry.

I’m not seeing anything nearly that good here in Florida.
Maybe my SimFX needs a better internet connection?

IRL the further south US and SW the Less intense Lights RW. The SimFX is doing a darn good near RW awareness in the sim. Take from me, I had the privilege of being a Vet Brat, both parents serving RCAF and US Army. Even myself serving 25 years RCAF/USCG. Im well versed RW in Space WX and Aviation WX in relation to Geomagnetic Storms and effects.

Someone else with big FPS issue using SimFX Traffic AI Contrails ?
I tried with Fenix 320, PMDG737 and A310 and have big FPS hit unplayable for now.
On the latest version?
