Your post and this thread is a godsend! They really need to fix this, before more people end up investing time, just to lose more money and “progress”.
It’s so fundamentally broken that I have my doubts it will ever get fixed properly. I think the best solution would be deactivate Career Mode, or remove it from the game and start developing it from scratch. Just NOTHING works in this game.
Hmmm, idk, I am not that pessimistic. Most missions for me were quite fine: besides one mission, where my parking spot at the arrival airport was on top of a hangar, resulting in a crash by skipping and another mission where there was no possible route from starting point to the runways (solved by skipping). Guess thats like 95% success rate for me!?
My main problems currently are the passive income, insurance and the general feel that it seems too grindy for me.
In addition there are some problems with the routes (e.g. supposed altitude too high for the plane I am flying), communication etc… However I am no expert at all and have only started my first cargo company and biggest planes were the medium cargo ones. So maybe it gets worse from there on.
I have quite some fun flying around, exploring the world and having a goal in doing so.
In my case I don’t need to worry about the insurance to drain my money, as it has done that already. The good news is that you cannot go negative credits:
with one airplane with crew off i pay 64000 credits per day, nice incomes profit…
Okay so there is a workaround to sell your last remaining aircraft. The bug seems to be that you, as a pilot character, is stationed in the same hangar as the aircraft you want to sell, that’s why the game gives an error message.
How to work around it: just undertake any Employee mission that ends at a different airport. Do the mission (you can skip any stage of it), land, park and finish the mission. This way your character will end up at a different airport than where your last aircraft is stationed. You can confirm it on the “Headquarters screen” by seeing the hangar is empty (if it loads the hangar at all). Because your plane stayed at a different location.
After this it’s possible to sell the last remaining aircraft and hopefully this also nullifies future insurance deductions — although this is something that I’ll see tomorrow. As broken as it is, I wouldn’t be surprised if the game continued to remove insurance even though I have no planes left…
Until the Career Mode is made to actually function, I recommend doing only Employee missions. They don’t pay, but you also don’t have to spend on anything.
I’m curios whether the career mode maintenance fixed the issue. For now, I have turned crew off on all of my aircraft.
From the wording of the patch notes I think no. The fix may not solve the issue which is insurance itself is calculated incorrectly. So even if you have passive aircraft, they continue to require daily insurance based on their lifetime flight hours. “Negative passive income” is simply a symptom that as your crew fly, the insurance just keeps growing. But the bug affects non-crewed aircraft all the same.
Well, it may have fixed something, but clearly not the biggest offender, which is the enormous insurance bill does not have anything to do with reality:
If I understood correctly the fix is active since midnight GMT. You will only see it working in the next insurance bill which should be in about 17 hours from now.
It that is what you meant? Or do you think the price per hour is too high or the flight hours are incorrect?
The daily insurance is calculated not by the flight hours of the previous day, as it should be, but the lifetime flight hours of a given aircraft.
Let’s see an example:
Insurance cost: 5000 Cr. / flight hour
First day: You buy your aircraft and fly it for 2 hours. Insurance cost should therefore be 2x5000 = 10000 Cr. the next day.
Second day: Insurance is indeed 10000 Cr and paid. Then you fly 3 hours that day. The next day, insurance should be 3x5000 = 15000 Cr.
Third day: Insurance is not 15000 Cr. Instead it’s calculated as
5x5000 = 25000 Cr., because it takes into account ALL flight hours, which is 5 hours at this point. If you fly, say, one more hour then the next day will deduct 6 hours worth of insurance and so on.
If you don’t fly, the next day will still be a 25000 Cr. deduction, because lifetime flight hours never go down, they can only go up. And the more you fly to earn the insurance money, the more it will increase.
Just as a hypothetical thing: as soon as your overall flight time reaches 24 hours, you won’t be able to earn the insurance money even if you fly all day without a break.
Currently the only outcome of the Career Mode is that all money is wiped out for players who buy and want to use an aircraft, because the calculation of the daily insurance is fundamentally wrong.
Insurance bug is not fixed. Error still remains.
- Insurance flight hours are calculated wrong
- and billed even if the player had no flight hours the day before.
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• This was Happening to me with the Medivac Plane, even with Crew disabled. I Had to sell it to get rid of it.

Now mine is just not doing anything I didn’t even get an earnings screen today, before my earnings would be just all over the place for example it would say i made like 5 mil but then my total in the bank is like 2mil when I would login, it should of been that 5 mil plus what ever I had before…, but now it’s just doing nothing. I fix for this really needs to be more urgent or you need to give customers something we didn’t pay for this…
I have 4 companies will more than plane in each all fully repaired and crewed …
Same here. If you don’t play the planes keep flying, wearing out and charging insurance without generating any income. I have tried deactivating the crew and they still fly every day generating expenses.
The real issue is this:
Please go vote for it so that the devs take note and do something about it.
Indeed, this issue requires attention as it is severely impacting my experience with the career mode. Kindly refer to the appropriate bug report.
