All pretty quiet on this aircraft. Is it still coming?
Can wait for this one.
On their discords they showed some more WIP pictures this week.
It’s coming „soon“.
makes noises of excitement
echoes said noises
imitates Avanti engine noises
Is soon November 19th or earlier than that?
As a reminder, please keep this conversation for the FFX Avanti. Posts about other products were consolidated into the respective threads. Thanks!
There’s now a launch trailer up on YouTube:
So far 2020 only, and in the comments to the video FlightFX would not commit to its currently working in 2024. Also in the comments, a link to their policy document regarding 2024 upgrades.
If FlightFX had said unequivocally that the plane would work in 2024 but without the walk-round, EFB etc. the P.180 would have been an early purchase for me. As it is, I think I’ll wait and see how things develop.
Absolutely ridiculous that 2024, be it the SIM or the Market or both place is in such a state that as a 2024 user and no longer have 2020 installed I am precluded form buying this plane unless I jump through hoops!
I am so disappointed with all this, and I AM NOT BLAMING the Developer but this is just ridiculous. Asobo are just losing Sales for Developers.
The plane will work in 2024 according to the Flight FX Discord, but you are SOL if you have uninstalled MSFS 2020, you know supported Asobo and moved on to the latest sim.
Here’s a link to the FS2024 policy comment referenced above.

Cliff Notes:
- They will not port any of their FS2020 aircraft over to FS2024.
- If you purchase the FS2020 version of any of their models, the corresponding FS2024 model will be a free upgrade until May 20, 2025.
- After May 20th they will “potentially” charge an upgrade fee.
My question is: What if they don’t release the P180 for FS2024 until July, 2025? Will it still be free if I own the FS2020 version? It seems that FlightFX is being a bit cagey about it.
I’ve still got 2020 installed, so I could buy it in the 2020 marketplace, and see if it shows up in 2024.
But I think I’ll wait for one of our intrepid YouTubers to be given a copy and post a video of it working in 2024 on their channel before I seriously consider doing that.
Edit: after looking at Begotten Poet’s link I agree with his analysis. So without an ironclad promise of a free upgrade whenever it happens, buying the 2020 P.180 for use in 2024 would be dumb.
How can we reach a state where one of the MSFS 2024 official partners needs to release a product for 2020 and could not make any promises about 2024?
From PMDG it was the normal thing to expect, blame Asobo and MS, claim the SDK is a mess, describe memory issues and other bugs and say they were left out of the loop. Sounds like whining and excuses from the drama queens but they are probably right.
Now from FlightFx? I’m just perplexed, they worked with Asobo and MS for the 2024 release, they produced three default aircraft for 2024, and now they are releasing the P180 for 2020 ?
Something is not right here.
Another possibility is that FlightFX is weary of releasing a product for a sim in a messy state, anticipating more than usual support issues from the get-go and the inevitable tests/revisions required as major SUs are released. Being an official partner may even give them deeper insight leading to caution without being at liberty to discuss the why.
It’s really simple.
FlightFX only releases things on the official marketplace.
MSFS 2024 doesn’t yet have the marketplace enabled, but 2020 does. Once it’s enabled, the P180 will come to 2024 officially as well.
For now it’s been confirmed on the discord that it will work in the new sim as a 2020 plane if you buy it there.
Unfortunately this is marketplace only which is a huge negative for me so I’ll hold off. Shame as I like the plane
Ugh, why only on the Marketplace? I avoid it as you can’t mod the planes you buy there!
