Moved this conversation to the Pilot’s Lounge where you can talk about things you saw in “What Did I Do Today in MSFS” thread without being off-topic.
If you’ve flown other small General Aviation piston powered aircraft, it’s pretty much the same. It’s a constant speed prop, so you only need to manage Throttle and Mixture. Fuel tanks don’t auto switch so manage that accordingly. My mod really isn’t ready for primetime. I’ll ask this other user I know who was working on his if it’s publicly available. I’ll reply back with the link if it is.
Thank you… I am trying to see if I can use Simlink to download a flightplan to the aircraft…
Save it as .pln, upload it at the World Map view.
As you can see below, I did that, but weirdly, when I click on the FLY button, nothing happens
What happens when you click Fly?
FLY “square” just blinks…like it has received a command, but then nothing happens after that.
I would just create that plan by hand in the World Planner and see if you still have the same problem.
Problem solved. Simbrief downloads 2 different plans. One includes STARS and SIDS and that is the one that does not work.
The other one without works perfectly. And I just flew it from Seattle to Victoria.
Thanks for all your help!
What do you think of the Connie?
The reviews I read, (a month or so ago), were kind of wishy-washy about it; implying that it was nothing like the quality of PMDG’s DC-6.
Has that changed in the last couple of months?
I think it’s definitely improved a lot sense then and now I wish that the pmdg DC6 had more updates to get use of the new features and more stuff on the PMDG pad settlings
The only downside about the Connie is that can be easy to work around is the check list doesn’t load so I printed out the checklist for that aircraft
I have mentioned that on the PMDG DC-6 forums, specifically things like checklists and the overhead chart for takeoffs, but they seem kind of down on that, like it would make the tablet some kind of sim-breaking FMS new-fangled computer thingie.
I would also love to see the ability to break out the entire tablet as an external piece, but that would be a GIGANTIC effort, non-trivial when compared to the rest of the aircraft’s development. ![]()
I specifically broke out the PMDG DC-6 checklists and popped them up on MediaFire.
PMDG DC-6 Checklist:
MefiaFire: PMDG DC-6 Checklist
PMDG DC-6 Extended Checklist:
MediaFire: PMDG DC-6 Extended Checklist
I am also breaking out as an external document the takeoff placard in the upper center. (I’m thinking about reversing the colors so that it’s black on white instead of white printing on black to make it easier to print.)
Update:
The takeoff/landing chart:

The same chart but inverted for easier printing if you want a printed chart:

Enjoy!
After I printed out the checklist I was going through the clip.board and found it on that so it does have the checklist I just didn’t play with everything on the clipboard at the time
Clipboard?
What clipboard?
On the Connie
@anon44786522: Indeed. I always check how long have they been online and hope ATC did not log in for for a few minutes only, but s… happens. Sadly the estimated logoff time is hardly ever filled for any of the controllers. I guess it’s something only sim pilots worry about. It’d be hilarious if someone would be approaching a runway with 150+ passengers then tower transmits “All stations, all stations, tower logging off, continue on unicom 122.8” ![]()
@RagingWombat839: Wow, that’s a completely different magnitude of worry
I really wish they upgraded the in game ATC. However beyondATC seems to be promising. I’m watching that project on discord. I do hope it will turn out right.
