Couldn’t Asobo just make the default starting point on a ramp, rather than a runway, and give the option to still start with engines running?

If course they could. There’s a wishlist thread you all can vote for which was linked in a post above already:

Make it impossible to spawn on runway in Live mode

Simple enough- its a big hit to realism when you’re on short final and someone spawns in front of you.

But the thread opener’s issue is different and won’t be solved by this improvement.
