In hindsight my “rename community folder” step should have no affect on this. What I was supposed to be doing was renaming my custom folder to preserve the contents. Oddly enough, uninstalling didn’t actually remove the “Officia” folder which I should have been re-naming to preserve and reduce re-install times.

Anyways, I can still reproduce this issue if I update to the Beta Regardless of folder renaming.

I had this too today. Not the same message but the “License can´t be verified. Insert game disk” instead. I had launched game several times today without this error. Some minutes ago it started to appear.

Cheers

Hi,

Since this weekend I am getting the please insert disc error when trying to start MSFS on my PC. Already went through all the steps in the several KB’s but those didn’t work. Only workaround I found out currently is leaving the beta and install it. Using that will start MSFS but several things are broken such as the profile page. Entering the beta again will push the update to version .18 but will bring back the insert disc error.

One thing which is strange is that on the Xbox it works fine. Anybody already experienced this issue?

Johan

Getting the same error since today morning. Worked fine last night. Looked for updates in the microsoft store and ran windows update and rebooted PC. Still the same issue.

Tried to “Repair” via windows apps settings and XBOX app too. Didnt help.

Cant use the sim at the moment.

gaming services was updated, might have caused this issue.
Try opening the xbox windows app, click the 3 dots at flight simulator and go to manage > Verify Repair something along the line of that.
that fixed it for many people in the past.

Hi @FinalLightNL , tried this too, unfortunately didn’t work for me. Will wait a few hours and try again, or else might need to reinstall

same for me tried the repair and didn’t fix it only leaving beta and clean install this. Hopefully it will be fixed in the new build which they promised to release

Hi, I went here and uninstalled “digital ownership” listed under “App addons and DLC”, then restarted the game. It works now. Worth trying i guess.

Tried it. Didn’t work. Thanks anyway.

Same tried it, didn’t work here either. I think a server that authenticates is down IMO.

It’s definitely a server then. I think they should make an announcement about the issue before everybody reinstalls their sim for nothing.

Whenever this issue pops up, it’s mostly a server issue. You just have to wait it out.

I’ve had this happened to me twice before and you just have to be patient and wait it out or check the next day if not resolved same day. Uninstalling game won’t fix the issue.

The Sim was working fine Sunday morning and then I changed the settings ,ie turned on rolling cache, set to 32gb and played for awhile. I then came back in the after noon and started to get this error message. (MS Store version) I have done all the listed troubleshooting other than a fresh reinstall.

I’ve same problem since today. Eh.
