Please Remove "Press Any Key to Start"

count my vote as a yes please

If I “open as administrator” I’ve clearly made the option that I want to access the program. Sort of redundant isn’t it? Kind of like deleting a text in messenger… remove, remove for everyone, remove. ugh

why do we have to press a key I already start the game, get up ,goto my kitchen make some coffee let my dog out. clean some dishes and then I come back just to see “press any key” just go straight into the game

Actually, I want to sent a default airport, starting configuration, i don’t want to have to keep going through a menu. Just take me straight to my plane on the tarmac please.

Windows lets you change the volume of individual applications. Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select ‘open volume mixer’.

Thank you.

+1 on quick exit too. ALT-F4 saves the day. I hadn’t had to use that key combo since the early 2000s, but with MSFS it has become my new best friend.

Oh, man. This would be amazing. Set a favorite scenario and an ability to load it from the command line / shortcut. Please log this in a new thread for people to see and upvote.

Thanks so much! Microsoft seems to have myriad ways to do things if you know what they are!

But think of how much more you’ve gotten done in the meantime, right?

Hope asobo will make a new update tomorrow

This is ridiculous! I paid $140 for this game and I haven’t been able to play it because I can’t find the “ANY” key! Please remove this page so I can finally play this game! There is no “ANY” key on my keyboard.

THanks.

like the FSX default flight and the option to skip the menu at load, so it goes straight to the default flight and loads it up…yes…i love that idea as well

only downside is alt-f4 aborts the saving of the current aircraft state, so it aborts the logbook entry of flight time if that is important to you…it’s as if you didn’t load the game at all. when you exit to menu, that is when the logbook entry is created/updated.

The Alt+F4 functionality must have been included for the convenience of developers. Feels like a mistake to have left it in the release.

Why would you require a user to confirm quitting from the main menu, but allow an instant quit while in the cockpit?

Alt+F4 is a default windows shortcut, it will close any window you are in when you hit it.

Alt+F4 won’t close an application without a confirmation prompt if you have an unsaved document.

Therefore it shouldn’t close FS without confirmation if you’re in the middle of a flight.

Yeh, Alt+F4 is almost the same as manually clicking the X in the top-right and programs get a signal (OnClosing) event that can handle some stuff (like saving) or aborting the closure of the app.

Honestly, I’m happy that they did not intercept ALT-F4 to request confirmation. I use it when I want to quickly exit the program with an understanding that it won’t save anything.

I do agree that there should be a proper “Save & quit” in the pause menu.
