Ah fair enough. Yes surprising it’s not simulated.

Aren’t you supposed to update via Navigraph?
Yes and no ![]()
Well, the -800 is online over Navigraph app, that was quick ![]()
I don’t have it in the Navigraph App. Restarded sim, pc and app
I’ve only flown it once this morning. It’s definitely longer looking, has the tailstrike sensor at the end of the fuselage. I did a cautiously shallower take off angle, and it was definitely faster VREF on landing (143kts) & took more of runway to stop (sorry laymans terms here). Almost identical cockpit apart from one or two minor changes. Engine fuel switches different, some differences in OHP but not many. Haven’t checked out the interior yet. Often overlooked, but another 30 liveries (some duplicate airlines different eras eg 3 Ryanair included in package (passenger) and a few freight for the two cargo variants it comes with.
I bought the 800 but didn’t bother with the 700 (I just bought the 2 x “extreme ends”, the 600 and the 800 for now) - how does the lighting compare in the 800 to the 700? I think its absolutely superb in the 800, really really good. Often overlooked.
I think it goes some way to demonstrate just how amazing the lighting is in MSFS.
No it´s such a beautyful and visual high quality plane.
The only thing that is disgusting is the position of the left pilot footrest bolts. Every time I look down I see this:
The screw is half-way clipping through the cockpit sidepanel, that´s a no-no for the perfectionists among us ![]()
But don´t worry I am going to take care of that in the PMDG forums and have a nice talk with the developers. I know they want to see this ugly glitch fixed too. To be proud of being able to say: We developed the PERFECT virtual Boeing 737 fleet!
They have fixed a slight gap between a cockpit element and the cockpit wall behind the pilot´s seat in the DC-6 Cloudmaster too I was ticketing to PMDG, I am sure they are happy to fix the position of these two bolts too ![]()
The differences are not that obvious but catered for the true 737 fans.
I have already noticed some differences compared to the -700 series.
Here we have some nice announciator lights that show eh… sorry I don´t know what purpose they have because there are no tutorial videos of the 737-800 freighter yet:
The next fan service is getting not one but TWO cargo plane variants ![]()
One is the original Boeing cargo plane, the other one is a converted freighter version.
Sorry I don´t know the exact technical differences between an original freighter and a modified converted freighter (I guess in the converted freighter the cargo door is cut into the hull, the windows are still there but blocked, and some other details in the cockpit and the cargo room, but I need to read about this on Wikipedia.)
The BBJ business version has more fuel tanks to select (to equip the plane with) and some other details.
The 737-800 is the BEST 737 package so far! Absolutely recommended. The only sad thing is that the circuit breakers are not functional.
Look at this lovely plane:
The circuit breaker panels can be illuminated.
All of these flashlights mounted in the cockpit can be switched on and oriented to a specific spot in the cockpit freely.
But this was already shown in many showcasing videos. A wonderful plane.
Too bad that this website is down because I wanted to plan a flight vom Hamburg to Köln right NOW! ![]()
Not to nitpick, but I prefer the astronomical definition of the seasons. According to that, fall begins at equinox on September 23.
![]()
Anyway, hope they make it till that date. On their user forums they announced the tablet to go into (short) beta testing in 2H of September, so it looks like a tight schedule.
The last day of summer 2022 is Thursday, September 22. So take a deep breath and relax. They won’t make that date, since most stuff has slid a couple weeks as they move through the model lineup, but most recently RSR said they hope to have the EFB in their beta team’s hands by mid-September and don’t expect the beta phase to take long, with an update for it across all the lineup by October.
Henceforth I will switch my expectations over to my astronomical calendar from now on ![]()
Simbrief Profiles Updated for the 800
Does the -700 now need more thrust to taxi after last update or is it me?
Does FedEx really fly that model or is that livery fictional?
Yes, that livery is of a real BDSF variant.
I must be a bit dense but where are the sunshades on the -700? I’ve downloaded the update, got all the other features that it brought but for the life of me I can’t find the overhead sunshades anywhere in the cockpit. Any idea what I’m missing?
Not tried the 700, but they should be located in the wall pocket behind the pilot seat. You have to click on them to take them out.
I believe you have to go into the PMDG options menu in the FMS to enable the sun shades.
