Pmdg settings?

Window shades > yes

Go to the PMDG menu in the FMC, then AIRCRAFT and (I think) EQUIPMENT. It’s the last item added, at the end of page 16. Enable them there. The pullout shades are on the two left-most and right-most windows. The sliding green sunshade is stored in a bin on either side of the cockpit wall next to each seat. Click on it to have it clipped onto the rail, then drag it left/right to position it however you want.

Oh no, those screws again… I thought that someone has explained a few times that it’s not a visual bug and you never reacted. But go ahead and ask the PMDG guys, I’m also interested what they’ll say about it

They will probably tell him the same thing I did in two previous replies. The bottom edge of the left sidewall in the rudder pedal tunnel in the aircraft PMDG photographed for their cockpit model overlapped the outboard screws in the kickplate, which is why it looks like that.

Not yet, first I do some nice flying.
The important bugfixing stuff can come later when I have found at least 2-3 things that could be improved or fixed in the cockpit or the outside 3D model.
Flying that beast is more important now

Up up and away, the sky is the limit!

Update: I bought it anyways

A good choice! Your back and your spinal disks will always be thankful because look at these absolute gorgeous seats!!

So soft, and ergonomic, protected from harmful UV rays by 30 shades of yellow.

Anyone else having trouble downloading the 800? My download can barely move

Does anyone know how to switch from waypoint to waypoint to have a visual check if my flight plan looks good with smooth turns and no sharp bank angles necessary?

I would check if my STAR and ILS approach looks fine.

And: Yes this airplane really needs a good “electronic flight bag” EFB touchscreen in the side window  because part of the fun is FULLY programming the FMC with all weather (METAR) details and weight and fuel and center of gravity and cargo payload details.

Just got home and bought the -800. Now to download it and finally see what all the fuss is about.

You’re missing my point.

I already own the -700. There is absolutely nothing there whatsoever to justify charging existing 737-700 owners another $70. It is, to all intents and purposes, identical.

The price is fair if people don’t already own the -700. For those that do then the -800 should be no more than $35.

As it is $70 stinks.

Very true.

Doesnt apply to me as I own the 600 which I have never used!

But I fully agree with you

but is the difference from the 800 to 700 so big ? why dont you continue with the -700 and save your money for others like QW, Majestics or Leonardos !

I bought the -800 last night, did a quick CYEG-CYYC flight to test it out.

However, I’m hoping someone will do the Air Pacific livery, then I’ll be able to recreate the longest journey I ever took on a 737.

CYEG-CYVR-PHNL-NFFN

The CYEG-CYVR was a Westjet 737-800
The CYVR-PHNL-NFFN was a Air Pacific(now Fiji) 737-800

Almost 1/2 way around the world on a 737!

You should really search the internet (or this thread) for a copy of the FCOM. Most of the stuff you ask about is in there.

For this question, you’re already in PLAN mode on your display. Change your FMC to the LEGS page and you’ll see STEP next to one of the soft keys on the right. That will step you through your flight plan.

Oh no now the difficulties start when an Airbus pilot tries to fly a 737
I don´t know how to make the FMC intercept or return to the first waypoint I have accidentally overflown…

What is to do when the FMC says “not an intercept heading” because it is following the HDG heading mode in autopilot instead of Nav flightplan mode?

I still don’t understand the drama around this. PMDG announced their plans with approx. release dates and prices a month before they even released the -700. So everybody had a chance to think it through, which variants to get or wait for. Nobody has a right to get all variants for some favorable price, it’s still a buy/not buy decision, isn’t it?

Exactly…
I think it’s a very fair price for the hours of enjoyment spent.

It costs $69 for 3 beers at a hockey game

That’s EXACTLY my point. It’s almost identical, but would be nice to have nonetheless. For PMDG to charge full price for essentially the same product is just profiteering. I’m surprised that seemingly people are happy to part with $140 for a 737-700/800. I’m not saying it should have been free, but it should have been significantly discounted for existing -700 owners.

$140 is significantly more than the blinkin sim cost!

@mhron

Absolutely they did, and I said it was simply ripping people off then as well.

@Emerald0771346

If you’re paying $23 for a beer you need your head testing. That’s insane!

for my part one 737 type is enough i do not need all.
yeah PMDG wants to make money so lets be smart and not buy all !

@Emerald0771346 hope that beer price is not the standard fee !
