i agree. If anything i want the efb for easy payload, fuel and ramp ops control. As long as the v speeds look right i’m good with that. I know something is wrong if my rotate is 126K when my GW is 170,000 pounds…
Already provided through the FMC for fuel and payload. Pushback toolbar/GSX can handle ramp control or fuel and payload. What’s missing? Instead of being only in the EFB you just need to drop those tools into the community folder and it’s still technically ‘in sim’. Going back to what the previous user posted, PMDG waited too long and has missed the boat. Everything PMDG could offer from an EFB already pretty much exists, Navigraph being the biggest contributor.
Just to be clear, GSX can SIMULATE fuel and payload but not actually load the plane, unless it’s been updated to do so and I missed the release note. It’s an immersion thing, and the animated workers and vehicles take time to allow the simmer to pretend they are loading the plane, but you still set the ZFW and fuel loads through the FMC.
OK, haven’t tried using it with toolbar pushback but there’s options for that as well. As I said, I can only see the EFB offering takeoff/landing performance and a reason to really need it. Heard rumors that the initial version won’t include those functions possibly. I won’t be above saying it would be nice to have it the same as the Fenix does. Hopefully I am wrong and they’ll have something amazing tied with it.
well yeah. i’m just tired of doing things from the FMC it’s not so much a realism perspective for me but for the sake of convenience. And the “cool” factor of course. I could go either way since i have the second monitor and i can throw up any tool i need to on the second screen.
But sometimes i just want to do it all in game and not interrupt my show
Hi Guys,
I have noticed it mentioned here in the last few weeks but not a great amount of detail was given.
Has anyone noticed a significant performance and mainly FPS hit in the last week or so with the PMDG 737? I have the latest build installed and have not added anything new to the Sim that would affect performance. I am getting a significant FPS hit in areas that was smooth as silk with the 737 previously.
I fly on VATSIM using FSTL and AIG traffic injectors but both also performed well with the PMDG 737 prior to last week.
Many Thanks
Try clearing the rolling cache in settings → data. I had some stutters, cleared that, turned rolling cache off and on again and stutters are gone.
I fly the B737 daily sometimes with FSTSL (sp) and have not noticed what you describe.
trying to fly the PMDG 738 and the IRS will not align. I have made sure things are all up to date. I spent over an hour trying to get it to align. It did once i set up the flight and then the auto pilot would not work or the auto throttle. so i restated the flight then same issue IRS wont align. I used the 738 2 weeks ago and no issue.
The really obvious one (sorry, has to be said) is make sure the plane is full up to date with the latest release patch. The only time I’ve had the IRS not align was when I somehow fumbled the switches during initial start-up. regardless of what I tried it wouldn’t align until I restarted the sim.
Autopilot and, possibly, the auto throttle could be that you set the co-pilot/RH side FD on switch before the captain/LH side switch.
Other than that another issue I had a couple on months ago was just a general bug causing the plane to do some really crazy oscillations on take off where it pitched nose up to 60-70 degrees inspite of full forward stick and started to stall Again, I resorted to a full restart of the sim to fix this. 99.9% of the time the PMDG 737 is rock solid, but very, very occasionally it seems to have a temper tantrum.
Only other things would be go and have a look at the sim options menu on the FMC and see if anything needs servicing: I had a rudder, nose wheel steering and wheel brake issue a few weeks back that was due to not servicing the hydraulics (I had this on as a default option) and I hadn’t noticed the warning lights on the overhead panel.
Not just you! I am getting a performance hit espeically in the cockpit even with the displays off. How irconic to be getting better performance with FENIX. PMDG 737 use to run well on my system so I am not sure what changed!
its near so
Terrible stutters there in landing. That’s unplayable for me, amazed it wasn’t even commented on!
It was something to do with the recording. Emi upload a second version of the video and all is fine, no stutters on final.
Yeah, I pointed out the stutter issue to him on the PMDG forums. He said it wasn’t like that while flying. He uploaded again without the issue.
People forget the recording software and the performance hits it takes. If it’s a video recording, automatically assume there’s a performance decrease.
Wow 75 Dollars for two new things on a 737.
Few more inches
Another Exit door
Nothing New to add
This seemed to have helped some what compared to the terrible performance I was getting. The average FPS is still there but not as dramatic as it was. I believe something has definitely gone amiss in the 737 in the last couple of weeks. Thanks for the great suggestion none the less!
I know people have mentioned that this was not present in his sim however the performance during final approach was exactly the issue I was getting flying into FlyTampa KBOS last week. Previously zero issues with performance in the 737 at KBOS. Unsure what is going on but as others have said, It is unplayable when this performance hit occurs.
