PMDG 737 Discussion (PC Version) (Part 2)

Use the standard MSFS camera controls to move around.

Would that still work if using chase plane ?

Yes, it does for me.

What makes the 800 50% more expensive to upgrade than the 900?

More variants - the 800 has the pax, two cargo versions and the BBJ. The 900 is just the pax of the 900 and 900ER. This is also reflected in the base (non upgrade) prices for each version.

Fair! Thanks

It was interesting to watch Emmanuel’s video on how Boeing made the 900 version. The info about the extra fuel tanks in the cargo hold for the ER version and the lack of gauges in the cockpit of those tanks was informative.

Also the tail strike issue one needs to be aware of.

Yet, you should make one tail strike to experience what happens, lol.

Release the 736 then I will make vertical take offs

Installed the 737-900 and all available liveries A-OK, now for a test flight out of an airport of my choice.

With SimAppPro 1.16.89 aboard, departed KLGA for KATL in the DL 739 ER for my first flight in the 900 series. So far so good. Nice to have all the Winctl gear working!

That’s an excellent route though I admit to holding off on ATL routes until Orbx’s rendition finally drops. I haven’t flown the 900 yet in ‘24. I’m thinking maybe Detroit to SLC. Or perhaps SLC to PDX. It’s going to be a rainy weekend here so plenty of time for flying.

Good route ideas. Will probably do United and/or Alaska flights next to cycle through a few of the 900 variants and liveries. Very nice assortment for the airlines I typically fly, and lots more for the others that folks will want to see on their 900s. Cheers!

-600 for MSFS2024 available now.

And all the Winwing stuff is working already, no need for a SimAppPro update. I did have to manually add the [SDK] lines to the 737_Options.ini file and reload the sim for the displays to work on my PFP7 and PAP3 MAG.

736 - Interestingly this is present without me doing anything

Nice. OTOH just had to do this manually after installing the -600. No idea why LOL but done. Cheers!

Current versions of SimAppPro do this automagically for PMDG aircraft it recognizes, no need to edit the file manually. Other programs such as AviaCDU do the same.

I am certain the aircraft does not include those lines by default when first loaded, as I made sure to open the file myself and look before I added the [SDK] section manually. Perhaps had I not done so, SimAppPro would have added them if I had quit and reloaded SAP with the -600 running. I dunnoo.
