NAV1 ILS freq for normal ILS
NAV1 + NAV2 frequ for ILS autoland (plus AP1+AP2 engaged)
The course dial is the grey knob on the left side of the AP panel. It is usually set to runway course which is shown in degs in the approach charts.

To the very left along the black line.
What I may do is get flight plan from simbrief, copy it into world map to get some kind of ATC.
But leave the approach on Automatic in world map, and just go from there, as someone just said, I will use simbrief to check ATIS and the runway in use.
sorry to ask noob question, but how can I using the XBOX controller to toggle some switches? for example, the fire system test allows you to switch the left switch to the left position only. Or on the XBOX version , not everything is implemented as in the PC version ?
I think entering in the correct approach and runaway into msfs world map works fine.
I think the issue Iām having is maybe atc is dropping me to late and Iām not correctly positioned for ils speed, flaps stable alt ect throwing off the diamonds.
Did not have a issue with other airliners but maybe the 737 has to more precise
I am not sure on this because I use mouse and keyboard but reading previous post the 737 isnāt work well with the Xbox controller.
Is it possible you can use mouse/keyboard as it works perfect
Marketplace items are refundable. Iāve refunded two in my time.
For some very odd reason, I noticed that simbrief has airac 2203 unlocked (me or everyone?). This obviously allows me to select this airac to plan flights for the 737 (airac 2204) without too much trouble⦠SAVED! Very happy about that. So no Navigraph charts, but at least proper planning from simbrief.
I was successful in completing a first flight, takeoff to landing, with the 737 last night. A few aural warnings and a very fast approach, but pretty successful overall. Now I need to study this bird in more detail to fine tune things.
cheers.
As an in game atc user, my tip is to never wait for in game atc to descend you. They are often (but not always) late especially with approaches. Go by the approach chart values and you wonāt be wrong.
Will do from now on . Just like the immersion following atc just wish they would update the atc itās pretty bad and letās down the sim in many ways
So then Navigraph can post an update patch to the Marketplace?
And of course since nothing can go up as free, it will need to be tagged 5 bucksā¦
I have to be honest, I donāt like the sounds of this situation. What do you think is the most reasonable way to fix the problem? Thanks.
Just checked I can also unlock 2203, I subbed yesterday to the service.
So do you think its best to plan flights with 2203 in simbrief, I would have thought the latest cycle would be ok for now?
I think you could use Navigraph (or latest airac on simbrief) but there could be differences.
PMDG - airac 2204
Simbrief - 2203 unlocked for me (and others?)
Navigraph - Latest airac
Iād be curious to know how your navigraph handles simbrief plans imported with older airacs. Iām interested in signing up to navigraph, but because it only uses the latest airac I am hesitant.
I will stick to old-airac-simbrief-planning for the 737.
Yep, not sure if its possible but I would like to just turn ATC off for my aircraft and follow my own plan in line with current procedures, but still be able to hear other live traffic around me. Is that possible?
As I like the immersion of ATC, but not the broken mess it can be.
Is the difference between airac 2204 (737) and simbrief old airac 2203 minimal I presume?
yeah, my guess is that itās very minimal (as minimal as is gets anyway ).
Significantly more in sync than 2204 and the current airac, so thereās that.
I like to add an approach from within navigraph charts after importing plan from simbrief so I might be best using latest on simbrief for now as it seems like itās ok for time being.
As using old airac from simbrief and then importing to navigraph charts and adding an approach might not work so well.
This is one of the best videos out there that explains all the basics of set up for 737 from a 737 pilot showing the sim pilot using the PMDG 737 both standard procedures and checklists. Itās worth the watch! The pilot uses procedures he is used to (Ryanair). There are no short cuts and lots of useful insights. I think both novices and experienced sim pilots would find this useful. One of the challenges out there when learning to operate and fly complex āstudyā level aircraft is the abundance of well meaning but inaccurate videos that differ hugely from real world operating procedures. Thereās nothing wrong with this per se but with this product sim pilots have an opportunity to really experience what itās like to prep and operate this aircraft so itās a missed opportunity to cut corners. It also leads to many wondering why things arenāt working as they expect. Polits of course live by procedures and validate those procedures through checklist as thereās no second chance in real life - you forget things at your peril. This video is pure gold for anyone who wants to get the most out of this product without being patronising or intimidating - itās worth a watch or break it up and practice each stage/develop your a procedural list/check list from it - itās a great way to learn.
The only issue is how to get the update into the XBox version of the PMDG 737. Selling navdata updates on the Marketplace would be one āpermittedā way to modify existing XBox content.
If that were to happen, the Marketplace updates would have to be published by Navigraph, not PMDG.
No matter which platform you use, (PC or XBox), Navigraph updates are not free. PC users have to have a subscription to update the FMS database of the PMDG 737s, the Fenix A320, the Aerosoft CRJ series or the Leonardo MD80s. All of these products require nav data that is more customized and complete than what the default NavBlue MSFS nav data provides.
The advantage for PC users is that for one monthly Navigraph fee, they can update multiple add-ons, and even the core nav data of MSFS itself.
The way the Marketplace for works, any updates released there have to be for individual products.
So trying to get my head around all this.im pretty new to FMC planning Is it best to make a flight plan in navigraph than importing from simbrief ?
