Don’t think so as navigraph uses latest nav data, the closest you get to the 737 airac data is using simbriefs older airac cycle.
On looking there is 1 older airac available on simbrief which is closest to the one stored onthe 737.
I will ignore in game atc, so not worried about adding plan into world map, I will just use it for immersion.
For the most of it i have figured it out and got it working, but the bits i am having troubles with are configuring tge external lights to the buttons on the alpha yoke and the engine start leavers
I have a Navigraph subscription for a few months now but am a newcomer to SimBrief. I like fussing with charts in general, so I found I can plan a route in Navigraph, then when I go to edit it with the pencil tool, I can cut and paste it into SimBrief if I like. Apparently it works either way, depending on one’s preferences for planning a flight. Good clean fun!
I’m just wondering whether the PMDG house livery is in some way complicit in the poor performance at some airports. It’s not exactly basic, with those reflective ‘737’ titles.
Apparently, with the 146, you can turn the cabin off to improve performance. I’m not sure how much of a drain (if any) on resources cabin interiors are but, unlike terminal interiors, they don’t really add a great deal to the immersion (in my opinion).
If the cabin is fixed, perhaps PMDG could include a feature to trim it down or remove it altogether, for those of us for whom it’s immaterial?
So you can use World Map to draw up a flight plan and when the aircraft loads, the waypoints aren’t populated in the FMC?
I ask because I’d like to try and fly with ATC tonight, but I do like the ritual of programming the flight plan myself. I assume that my cold and dark configured state will persist, even if I draw up the plan in World Map, and will not enter my FMC waypoints for me. Correct? Cause that’s kind of a “best of both worlds” in my book.
I didn’t think to try that! To be fair the freighters look pretty cool with the SCD open and the main deck loader doing its thing! However I’d happily sacrifice even that aesthetic for a further increase in performance.
For the fidelity on offer the 737 is good on Xbox. But I think people were jumping the gun a bit when they claimed it was flawless within mere hours of its release.
Yes. That’s the way to do it if you want IFR ATC. I generate the plan on Simbrief and then replicate it on the world map, I don’t bother matching every waypoint, just make sure the SID and STARS and approaches are the same.
A hoot tip for those looking for the ILS frequency and heading, when you are in descent and approach they are shown on the INIT REF page on the FMC along with your approach speeds and flap settings.
It takes time to learn for sure but what a wonderful and smooth plane to have on XBOX. Incredible and well worth the wait. So far I haven’t had issues at third party airports, it seems to have better FPS than the A310 which worked ok for me but was sometime stutters on larger airports. One thing I haven’t figure out is how to use the pushback. On XBOX I seem to manage only a straight push back so far. L shape ends in a messy pushback and no turns. As anybody been able to use this?
Just done a bit of flying with the BCF variant and performance does indeed seem better, even at reallly intensive third-party airports like NZA’s CHC.
Let’s remember, this is the first iteration for Xbox and we’re not even a week after release. I trust PMDG will listen to their customers and offer optimisations and patches based on user feedback.
Boeing Converted Freighter. There’s also the Bedek Special Freighter (BDSF). The BCF is, as the name suggests, a conversion carried out by Boeing and its official partners, whereas the BDSF is done unofficially by Bedek in Israel.
They are in your aircraft selection menu: regular pax version, BCF, BDSF and BBJ2. Then for each there are standard and split-scimitar winglet models, under ‘liveries’. Also included are two sets of aircraft lights — LED and bulb — but I’ve not yet looked into how to get those variations.
