PMDG 737 Discussion (Xbox Series S|X version)

After 737 liveries - CRJ AND A330 with liveries, then I’ll be satisfied lol

What’s even more annoying is ATC giving you clearance when the aircraft first loads and the batteries haven’t even been switched on

yeah, it’s nonsense, but I can live with it

The ATC in general is acting weird at times. Recently I was on my final approach and was requested to go to 17.000 feet

This is an old issue that can happen in any aircraft. I think it’s usually triggered when your AI copilot is managing ATC for you and tries to contact a controller while someone else on that frequency is talking. I recently stopped using the in-game ATC anyway, but I can’t believe that still isn’t fixed.

Had this for months and months, start my flight with ATC fine then randomly their voice disappears and I can only react to ATC instructions when my co-pilot reads back the request.

God I love MSFS ATC, said no-one ever.

A310, ATR, 737, CRJ, A330 is about it for me.

The A320 is a bit of a washout and the only ones that have been willing to do anything to improve on the stock has been LVFR.

The only other possible thing I’d jump on is a DeHavilland Dash 8, but the ATR suits me fine.

Just going off topic, but can you get the mouse left and right turn cursors in the 738 on Xbox? I’ve seen them on various YT videos, but I’m presuming these videos are PC versions. I’m struggling with turn dials using my mouse. The dial turns blue and you can no longer see the selection marker. Any help please

I haven’t had any issues. I just place the cursor on the knob and use the center wheel to turn the dial when it turns blue. Wheel down to turn the knob left, wheel up for right. The selection marker does get washed out, but it’s only a matter of moving away from the knob to see where it is.

Those are done by changing a optional file manually in the addon folder. That way is PMDG official recommendation for pc guys. So in xbox you can’t do that.

Anyone got the START button to illuminate and work to load fuel? Fuel truck is connected, pounds of fuel is entered, just wondering what secret dance you gotta do in order to get it to fuel in real time.

I guessed that was the case. Sometimes regret I didn’t go PC route? I only really went Xbox route so my Grandson would have use of the Xbox.

Mouse with a mouse wheel does the trick. You turn the wheel up and it rotates clockwise..and vice versa.

Thanks for the response. Got a mouse with a wheel just don’t like you can’t see the indication marker when the dial lights up blue lol but I love the PMDG 738 first proper study aircraft for Xbox let’s hope there are more to come :crossed_fingers:

Taking a break from the 737 for a while. Just realized simlink and navigraph are fully integrated in the vision jet SF50. WoW. Moving maps on external iPad and all. Makes you wonder what’s missing (old airac so I know) for this to work on the 737.

That lil tablet that PMDG is cookin up (all cynicism about release dates notwithstanding) promises to feature some pretty robust Navigraph integration, with SimBrief and all of that. I don’t think anything’s gone on writing as far as moving maps support on Xbox, but PMDG’s commitment to feature parity across platforms and getting their stuff into the Xbox Marketplace leaves me pretty reasonably optimistic here. The updated Vision Jet, I agree, handles this very elegantly and is a very fun plane to take out IFR.

Omgg i just saw msfs 2024 announcement! I am shocked! I wasn’t expecting new msfs this soon. Hope we get more details soon.

On topic, i managed to test 737-700 with my old pc i7 4770k 1060 6gb 16g + my friends new powerful laptop 5X00h 4070(ti) if i am not wrong and compared with xbox. Airports are way bigger as size on pc, like 1.6gb vs 6gb, 2gb cs 9gb.. More detailed but more prone to stutters and lag spikes. Cockpit looks better on pc especially shadows. Tested liveries, cockpit texture addons etc. I was planning to switch to pc but i gave up. XsX was more stable and stutfer/lag free. Not worth the extra 1500-2000$. I realized how amazing job Asobo ms pmdg did on xbox. Kudos.

I am so hyped for new msfs 2024!

Are we even going to get the 737 and DC-6 liveries before they turn msfs2020 off for msfs2024?

Most of us in this thread just bought a $70 PMDG 737 and now they announce this. :joy: We better hope addons are transferrable.

I’m pretty hyped but I gotta say, I might be almost as confused as I am excited by the trailer. They showed off so many different types of aviation activities, but there was no mention of commercial cargo/passenger transport aviation. The only appearance that commercial aviation made in the trailer was the shot of a terminal with some Iberia aircraft in the background during the scene for medical air transport.

So it makes me wonder, what is this new game? Is it just an air racing/crop-dusting/skydiving/experimental aviation simulator, or is it everything they mentioned in the trailer plus what we already have?

If the new game is MSFS2020 plus a bunch of career mode stuff and we get to keep our addons, then I’m ecstatic.

If the new game is just gonna be a 25 different flavors of aviation career mode, that’s still pretty awesome but not as exciting.

That’s what I’m thinking, seemed very specific to missions/rescue/weather. Not a traditional flight sim. To me it seemed like a game made from the sim. A game inside the sim.
This does not feel like a new sim. But it is might confusing when you call it MSFS 2024!
