They acknowledged it today and are waiting for the next patch from Asobo before they release another version. Relax for a bit. They are well within reasonable parameters.

Iāve bought my share of Carenado for other platforms. Their business model is to release, make one or two critical updates, and then they consider the aircraft complete, no matter what the remaining issues, or needed features are. Thatās why I always recommend only buying a Carenado product during one of their sales, and never pay full price.

still not able to go direct to a fix within the approachā¦ (doing a shortcut)
(Seems to go direct to that selected waypoint but ignoring all the subsequents, though still draws the complete approach path.)
Shouldnt it work already?

It may not be isolated to the 530. I have a similar issue on the modded G1000.
Is there a way to show wind speed and direction on the GNS530?
When you operate a DirectTo while the approach is activated, the simās kernel deactivates the approach so the directTo is executed but after that, the current enroute leg is used (usually to the destination airport).
I have no workaround for that until now.
What you have to do in such a situation:
When arriving to the direcTo target, synchronize HDG, switch to HDG mode, activate the approach, activate the leg from the DirectTO target to the next approach waypoint and switch back to NAV mode. This seems complicated like this but in fact, itās easy to do.
I will check for a workaround but cannot change the simās kernel.

In the gns530 training software, there is a map option to display the wind vector but it seems to do nothing on the display.
If someone can show me how it displays in a real GNS530, I can try to implement it.

Donāt expect simulation to reproduce all the functionality of a complex product.

Thank you, but how do I activate the next waypoint then ?
Seems it did not recognize the (skipped) waypoint and therefore wants me to go back to the initial app fix?
So I would have to go -direct to- EACH subsequent waypoint?

Not at all.
When arriving to the direcTo target:
- synchronize HDG,
- switch to HDG mode
- activate the approach again
- activate the leg (use the menu) from the DirectTO target to the next approach waypoint
- switch back to NAV mode.
Once you have activated the correct leg from menu, the plane will go to this leg and will continue the approach normally.

Like a user of FSX and the 530XP, I know the capacities fo it.

Would you be willing to share with us an estimate of the time you have put into GNS530 Mod ?
I think many will be surprised, who donāt realize just how time consuming the work isā¦and how much time & effort goes into what seems quite an insignificant āupdateā to them as a user, who downloads it in few seconds.
What would be really interesting would be if everyone guessed, and then say, after a time, you gave the Real numbers !!!

Not agree. I used a lot the XP11 GNS530. It works fine but itās far away to provide all the real GNS530 capabilities. Thatās an absolutely normal situation. We just need the main functionalities.
Look at the Garmin documentation.
Iām talking about the GNS 530 from RealXP an external software.
This software is 10 steps ahead of any GNS530 by default in any sim, really good one
