[Polls] Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 5 Feedback (PC/Xbox/PS5)

”The functionality of the following aircraft on PS5 and PS5 Pro is limited (wipers, gauges, levers, knobs, etc. may not work properly).

  • Antonov An-225 (from Aviator Edition)”

Is this a joke?

Of course wipers, gauges, levers, knobs, etc. may not work properly!

And no, not just on PS5.

Also on PC.

The Aviator Edition aircraft are officially disabled because they are not compatible with MSFS 2024.

A few of them will be made compatible with AAU 4.

I can understand that many new console players don’t know this right now and are probably reporting it thousands of times.

But the developers up there should know what’s going on.

Or is it not entirely clear?

With the An-225, for example, not only do the switches not work “properly” (also on PC), but the switches only become visible when you get close to them with the cockpit camera. That’s one of the reasons why this “Marketplace thumbnail aircraft” was also disabled.

I don’t understand this “UPDATE 2026-05-11” message.

As announced in the developer livestream, this will be the task of the AAUs.

What’s the point if the windshield wipers supposedly work on the deactivated Mriya, but everything else doesn’t and the aircraft is completely unflyable because AAU X, which will finally make the Mriya compatible with MSFS 2024, hasn’t been released yet?
Microsoft probably hasn’t even found a new partner to work on this aircraft.

How completely empty the sky ■■■■■■ me off. And there are only a few moving planes at the airports of departure and arrival… The other day I opened the PC version and was very surprised how many planes are flying in the sky. It’s not even about the Ultra graphics settings, or even the airplane display ranges. It’s just that there are no markers in the sky (although they are enabled), it seems to me that there is some very serious traffic bug on the consoles.

I think there are many bugs in (air) traffic. You constantly get clearances even though aircraft are on short final, other aircraft are on the runway, aircraft are taking off and landing in different directions on the same runway, aircraft are constantly crossing the runway while taxiing, etc., etc., etc.

Could be a plane issue. Is anyone having this problem outside of airliners?

Have you tried replicating in a non-airliner?

I currently fly the C172, Vision Jet, and most recently, the Honda Jet. I don’t have this issue.

I am in VR and constantly pushing right up to max vram. My GPU is almost always 95%-100% and 15gb + vram. If I get a bit to frisky with my settings, I can induce stutters, but I am not having the issue you are. Or I am, and it’s not perceivable.

Could that be because you are flying in VR and the other pilot is not? Just a thought.

Thanks for sharing your input.
From what I’ve seen, the issue doesn’t seem to be limited only to passenger airliners like default Microsoft/IniBuilds Airbuses or high-quality add-ons such as Fenix and iFly. It also appears in other aircraft as well - even testing the CJ4 shows similar behavior.

It seems to me that you might also be experiencing stutters in general? I think I saw you mention somewhere that with TLOD 200 you get horrible stuttering.

It is certainly a possibility.

It seems like it is just airliners though. I do not remember anyone having this issue that is not flying airliners. From what I remember, it is always looking up and down and involves looking at the mcdu.

The CJ4 uses an MCDU. Would it be fair to say that this problem “always” involves an airplane with an MCDU?

I just said I can induce horrible stuttering if I want. I have my settings figured out for smooth flight. Sometimes I will mess around changing settings when a new update comes out, or I see someone try something I have not thought of. My issue is simply vram. 16gb is 16gb. I just had to find the balance I was happy with at the biggest airport I use.

I did get them with the following planes, anyhow I am mostly only flying them.

BKSQ Caravan
BKSQ Baron
BKSQ Bonanza
Miltech MH-60

Others I have not been using for more than 1h. The beginning of a flight is usually ok for me.

Comment primarly for documentation purpose. No need to help troubleshot for me. Just keep my flights below a certain amount of time. I am fine with this right now. Still hope for a fix.

If your “issue is simply vram”, am I correct in understanding from your post above that you do not have unsolved/unresolved issues attributable to SU5? Just wondering where you stand vis a vis SU5, as that it the topic of this thread, providing feedback on SU5. Thanks for clarifying your feedback on SU5.

Yes, that is correct. I do not have any issues in SU5. Everything works the same for me. I did not turn anything down for SU5 to work the same as SU4.

I mess with my settings sometimes, but it is always a trade off. For example, I just got into flying the Honda Jet. I am focused more on the cockpit than I am on site seeing, compared to the great view the Vision Jet gives, or bopping around in the C172.

The Honda Jet has a couple panels with smaller text, so I shifted my settings to prioritize clearer small text in the cockpit vs outside visuals. My limiting factor is vram. My CPU (14700k) crushes msfs24. It uses about 30% and all cores are used evenly. No single core is spiking.

dram (48gb ddr5) is 55% used in the most demanding scenarios. I simply run out of vram. Nothing I can do about that. I choose not to spend 4k for more vram. lol.

When I say my issue is vram, I mean from a turning my settings up further perspective.

after SU5, I only experience stuttering if I have Mamudesign marinas and Mamudesign solar farms in the community folder, and in some areas, slight stuttering with Mamudesign power lines. This didn’t happen before SU5.

Otherwise, SU5 runs excellently for me in terms of performance, but it did before as well, just with the best sim enhancement add-ons from Mamudesign on top. Vanilla Sim has no stuttering for me

Therefore, flying after SU5 is less fun for me.

Yet another SU where Career mode is treated like the redhaired stepchild.

Jobs need to pay more, especially early on to reduce the grind. More missions needed, more aircraft needed variety, still a lot of problems where you can get punished by doing nothing.

At the very least, alter the way AI earns money to ensures it earns money regardless if you fly or not. Allow us to play it in a manager mode - or even attach AI aircraft to specific missions with a success rate showing how likely the AI is to complete the mission.

I completely agree. As someone who’s not new to hardware and software, it’s pointless and harmful to beat around the bush, making people like you, me, and many others look like “ignorant” on the subject. The problem exists and can be replicated in every user, period. If you open YouTube and watch video after video, from the least known to the most famous streamer, as well as official presentation videos, like the one for their TriStar’s inibuilds, for example, you’ll always see this problem. Then again, if you want to say what’s convenient for commercial reasons or otherwise, that’s fine with me, but constantly making those who actually have the expertise look incompetent—no, that’s not okay with me and is harmful to the entire community.

It’s quite interesting how a discussion suddenly change to afrom above perspective and getting quite focused personally. There should be no doubt that stutters are in some how still there or even infused by SU5. There are some advises how to lower this. One advise, if I’m correct you referring to that, seems to be to use the Xbox mode of win 11. Hmmm. . that maybe could help but I’m using a simulator/game dedicated for windows on a PC and not on a dedicated game box system. In addition to that we are not dealing with using a one company or developer environment. We often have mods and add ones from different developer on our system. Now there is someone how tries to bring this together and give his advise. I really appreciate this effort and can decide by my own to go further or not. But there is no need to blame this person for this. More to blame is someone who may have a solution and does not talk about it for what ever reasons.
Happy flying and kind regards out off Germany.

What I find most interesting is that those users who state they do not have the issue, do not post any videos along with there configuration to demonstrate their claim to the rest of us, even when asked to do so. Simply stating, ‘I do not have the issue’, doesn’t quite do it for me.

Good point mentioning Xbox Mode.

On my PC I honestly didn’t notice any difference between using Xbox Mode and running Windows normally. Performance felt basically the same in both cases.

I’m going to check it again specifically to see if Xbox Mode actually improves the stuttering when switching cameras. I think I already tested this before, but I want to be 100% sure, so I’ll repeat the test anyway just to confirm the result.
