[Polls] Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 7.1 Feedback (PC/Xbox/PS5)

In my case, this version works best.

The smart word I’ve read on this forum today: “revertion”. - without a doubt, the wisest ideia in moths!

Go ahead Asobo!

No.
Reverting to SU6 physics will not solve the problem, although it wll be slightly better than what we have at the moment.
It hasn’t been working peoperly since SU3 beta from March 2025.

Of course it doesn’t solve it. But it brings the problem back to a less bad stage.

True, though the dev forum post makes it sound like a temporary step back - to be followed by the “opt-in revised normalization algorithm” proposed for SU8.

We should have the possibility to stay on the 2nd last SU. Like if I want to stay on SU 6 I can do that until SU 8 goes live. Then I need to go to SU 7 at least (or SU8 if I want).

Agree. It’s possible to opt out of Windows updates or to revert them. The same option should be offered here.

Is there a reason we cannot provide feedback to the Poland update and the AN-28?

Hello @Pilotfirst9999,

I’m not sure what you mean by this comment. There are feedback/survey threads for both World Update 23 and Local Legend 26 on the forums. Other posters have already been sharing their feedback in these threads:

OK thanks, I couldn’t find them in the offical section

As of the time of this writing, both of those threads are at the top of the Official Microsoft Flight Simulator > Polls & Feedback section of the forums (below the pinned topics).

Thanks,

SU6 physics were absolutely fine and there are no major improvement to the modelling in SU7 and subsequent betas. Reverting to the ‘last good build’ is indeed a viable solution, as the affected fighter jets for example now feel like boats with anchors, as one member pointed out in another thread.

Reverting to that build will effectively resolve all drag issues across the board for 1st party and 3rd party aircraft.

Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing a persistent issue with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on Xbox Series X following the release of Sim Update 7.1 on October 23, 2026.

The issue started on October 24, 2026. The simulator finishes loading and reaches the main menu, but then the game freezes completely. The background music continues playing normally, but the game becomes unresponsive to controller inputs.

The issue occurs every time I launch the simulator.

Troubleshooting steps I have already tried:

  • Uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

  • Cleared the reserved space.

  • Deleted the game’s local saved data.

  • Checked for available game and console updates.

  • Checked the Xbox service status.

  • Removed and re-added my original Xbox profile.

  • Created and tested a different Xbox account, but the exact same issue persists.

  • Fully shut down the console, unplugged the power cable, waited, reconnected it, and restarted the console.

Unfortunately, none of these steps has resolved the issue.

Since the problem started the day after Sim Update 7.1 was released and also occurs with a different Xbox account, I suspect it may be related to the latest update rather than an issue specific to my original profile.

Is anyone else experiencing the same main menu freeze on Xbox Series X|S since Sim Update 7.1?

Could the Microsoft and Asobo development teams please investigate this issue and confirm whether it is a known problem?

Thank you for your help.

This has also been happening to me on PS5, although not at the spot you mentioned. For me, it happens immediately after starting a free flight. The entire sim just locks up while music continues to play.

please expedite a patch to return to the stability, lack of stuttering, decay of fps and ctd, that was achieve in update 7.0 This current 7.1 is unusable and unacceptable

Just loaded and flew 7.2 beta and it works fine, no stutters, fps slow downs, CTDs or intermittent white light screen flashes, so it can be done.

Weird jetway and stairs collision detection behavior since SU7 and now SU7.1:

Until now, jetways and stairs have always been non solid objects when they come into contact with the aircraft. Since SU7, and now in SU7.1 as well, it feels like some kind of collision detection has been introduced.
When connecting stairs or jetways to the aircraft, they sometimes seem to interact with it on contact. Sometimes they just shake the aircraft around, sometimes the aircraft rolls backward even with the chocks in place or the brakes set, and in the worst case, the nose gear collapses, as shown in the screenshot below.

This doesn’t seem to affect all combinations of jetways, stairs and aircraft, but I’ve already experienced it several times.

I do use GSX, but as far as I know, GSX only triggers the jetways to extend and retract, so I don’t think it’s the cause.

(PC Steam, PMDG 736 at the default Asobo Seattle Tacoma (KSEA), but as I mentioned earlier, it’s not specific to any aircraft or airport.)

Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes Chris, I just tried it at Seattle with Asobo’s B737 Max & the same thing happened with the front of the aircraft dipping down to the ground & bouncing up when the jetway - almost - met the fuselage, in fact the jetway stopped just short of touching..

Then I tried the same aircraft at CYYJ - Victoria International & it was all fine there.

I don’t have GSX, so it’s not that

Title: Thank you for the latest update, but package loading issues on PS5 Pro are still not resolved

First of all, I would like to thank Microsoft and Asobo for the latest update and their continued efforts to improve MSFS 2024.

Unfortunately, my frustration remains, as the fundamental package loading problems on PS5 Pro are still not resolved.

During startup, the simulator continues to get stuck at “Registering Packages”, frequently at 6% or 17%. Sometimes the loading process takes an extremely long time, preventing me from enjoying the simulator.

I have already reported this issue to MSFS Support, and they confirmed that the development team is aware of similar reports from other PS5 users.

While I appreciate the updates and ongoing development, I strongly believe that reliable startup and package loading should be a top priority.

I’m also experiencing freezing issues with the PMDG 737, but I would much rather see the fundamental stability problems addressed first.

My questions are:

  1. Are other PS5 and PS5 Pro users still experiencing these package loading issues after the latest update?
  2. Is anyone else getting stuck at 6% or 17%?
  3. Has the latest update actually improved startup reliability for anyone?
  4. Can Microsoft or Asobo provide a more specific progress update on this ongoing issue?

I genuinely enjoy MSFS 2024 when it works, but spending so much time waiting, restarting and troubleshooting is taking away the enjoyment of flying.

Thank you again for the continued development. I really hope these fundamental issues can finally be resolved.
