Very nicely done…congratulations…

Awesome! I have a Comanche setup but it isn’t as nice as yours. I tried to get all the knobs to match the VR view and came pretty close. But it’s all “blind”.
How do you do the hand tracking?

Thank you guys

I mounted the panels and Radio Stack with magnets on the metal dashboard, so it can be exchanged in seconds and - I can adjust the position easily

The ghost hands are a little workaround in the Quest with virtual desktop

Just press the meta button once and move the menu out of sight (behind you or on the ceiling, you can minimize the „windows“ but you need to keep the menu bar open )

This way your controllers or your hands will be visible all the time , this works extremely well and is a fundamental part of the whole concept. I would love to see tracked hands natively, but this will not happen soon .

Seeing your hands multiplied the immersion for me and made the interaction with the cockpit feel natural. Give it a try

Once the hardware panels are adjusted once, you can always recalibrate the view within seconds by pointing a finger on a hardware dial, and recenter the few by correcting the head position slightly until it fits (2 maybe 3 tries and it’s spot on)

Hi,
I have been simming for 30 years. Started building a cockpit with FSX. The current sim was started about 2 1/2 years ago and I had 3 PCs and 3 32" TVs and 3 monitors. Added desk, G1000 (Realsimgear) and Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo + panel (Flight Velocity FV6HAB). And grew from there.

Hey everyone! :waving_hand:
Just wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on the past few months — a DIY plywood flight sim cockpit I designed and built in my spare time.

I aimed to make it immersive, simple to build, and something that actually looks good in a living space. It’s mostly plywood with a few 3D printed parts, and I’ve put together plans, STL files, and full build guides for anyone who wants to try making their own.

Here are a few pics of the build:

Would love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions! :airplane:

@FlySter06 Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for sharing your project - it looks great!

Just a quick note: this thread is for photos only and not for discussion. If you’d like to talk about your build, get feedback, or answer questions, I recommend that you create a separate topic for that.

Are we allowed to use the forums as a selling platform now?

Though being weird, it looks like yes ! At least after asking moderators, from their answer they didn’t found it awkward …
I guess the forums would be a place to ease projects and market exchange, this is also how the idea came after sharing around the situation with friends

You’ve asked your question in the wrong thread, but I’ll answer anyway: No, the forums are not intended to be used as a selling platform.

This forum is not to be used for any non-MSFS related businesses, organizations, or websites. The selling of personally-owned used products (such as selling an old peripheral) is not allowed on the forums.
