So how are you planning to achieve that while keeping framerates reasonable, running each screen in 1080p? Also, what graphics card are you currently using? I’m using an RTX 2070 and at 5120x1440 my FPS in any dense city area in MSFS really drops frames into the teens. Over the updated London I was getting like 11-14fps (average of 12fps). Brutal. Hoping to finally be able to snag a 3080 or 3090 someday, which yes I know it won’t be giving me 60fps with the current coding, but so long as I stay 25fps or higher in these dense areas I’ll be happy. I’m figuring Asobo will improve the coding eventually as well as my opinion is the issue lies in the coding. Plus, X-Plane (which I’ve been using most lately) already gives me much better framerates. But yeah I’d love three 2K monitors, man that would be amazing! Just wouldn’t be able to do it in my current apartment space.

Well that’s exactly why I’m not in any rush to do it. To me, the outboard hardware is more important at the moment in order to get the functionality for a mouse and keyboard-free experience, which I’ve now achieved for all but 2 of the planes I fly (G3000/5000 planes). As of right now, the last time I need to touch a mouse is when I press the FLY button until I shut down and have my log book pop up. And that in itself is a wonderful experience.

For now, my 34" 3440x1440 screen will have to do. As of right now, performance is dreadful at best. World Update 3 robbed me of 10 fps that I can’t get back no matter what settings I run at. I can run at full resolution on a mix of high and medium (normal settings I’ve been using since October), or lower resolution to 720p (50% resolution scaling) and low quality, and I see absolutely no difference in my frame rates. That’s running on a Ryzen 2700X, 64GB RAM, 2x 1TB NVMe and an RTX2080. At times in dense areas, I’m running at frame rates that are barely playable.

So for now, the planned dedicated cockpit is just that - a plan. It’s what I aspire to. However, the current state of the sim prevents me from making that a reality. But when / if Microsobo ever get their act together, at least I’ll have the hardware on hand to make it happen.

Still a work in progress!

Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, RealSimGear g1000’s, Ipad mini w/ Foreflight, PilotEdge ATC and I’m still working on the cockpit. Emulating Piper PA-28 deminsions, but it’s still pretty immersive for most aircraft.

Could you please stay on topic? This topic is about sharing actual DIY cockpits. Not about disappointments about the simulator/game. Thank you very much.

The cockpit works with 1 computer.
Using a widescreen 250 cm and a Beamer setup.

Fantastic job…Congrats!!!

Very nice job but why don’t you fly in a real one ? it would be much cheaper and the sensations are fantastic

Hello everyone,

Are the two homes synced?

If you mean the yokes, yes they are connected and synced. I’m using a 2GT belt to connect the two yokes, however the 2GT belt is slipping. I’m currently working on a design using HTD 3M belt which should prevent any slipping

Thought mine was pretty good till I came here :joy:
