What specs are you looking for?
It’s a 210° screen, roughly 6m x 2m. I use 2x FullHD projectors, which is just enough. Higher resolution would be better, but was too expensive.

The sim is fully based on an old professional flight simulator, all I had to do is the projector setup and connect all hardware to new controllers to make it a HID compatible device.

Thanks! So 1000R approximately. You have 2m height. The one available here is 4x1 m. Would you miss a lot with that height?

At the moment I fly with the Odyssey G9. Whereas it is a marvelous monitor, the lack of height does have some disadvantages in terms of immersion.

2 m height on roughly 85 cm distance, how is the sharpness? Would you rather have 4K beamers? But that would mean a much more powerful GPU. Maybe even the 3080 or 3090 would have trouble with such a setup, don’t you think?

No, it’s ~1600R, if I remember correctly.
The necessary height depends on your cockpit windows. In my case, I appreciate the 2m height, it gives a great ‘in flight’ feeling since the screen covers almost all my cockpit windows area. On the downside, the resolution is not the best. I personally like the 2m setup for the really nice immersion.

Distance to screen is not 0.85m, but ~1.6m.

Thanks again!
For what I can see you’ve created a cockpit view without the hud? Which distances did you use to create this view? Is this still ‘behind’ the prop?

Yes, it’s behind the prop. The view is just a bit in front of the cockpit window. Unfortunately you loose the window effects from rain and ice.

Btw, I assume you also know about the distortion issue. MSFS is not yet able to render on a 210° degree screen without distortion, should be fixed in the future.

Yep. I am aware of that. Great info!

I actually hate HDR, everything just looks more dull and washed out. I leave it off and prefer the image in both the pervious and current screen way better. Color is just so much richer and blacks are blacker. I did turn HDR on in the game, just don’t care for the look.

Pictures uploaded now.

Done some upgrades to my cockpit, now with motion!

I’ve mostly been setting it up with racing, but have put a couple of hours into getting it working nicely with MSFS. Had a great flight the other night in a spitfire flying around thunderstorms in Brest… good feeling of turbulence and I have it set to respond in rate mode so the tilt is proportional to the rate pitch is changing on an axis. Feeling each wheel touch down on the runway was amazing too, and the engine haptics really give a good feel for that big old engine rumbling.

Motion cancellation in SRS appears to be working fine too as long as I select steam as my OpenXR runtime… looking forward to OVRMC adding native OpenXR support as I know he’s working on it.

Quick demo in joystick mode just for testing where movement is linked to the joystick rather than telemetry. This is only about ~75% travel.

Here’s mine. I do have some nice RX Viper rudder pedals but cleared the clutter when making this video.

Another new piece in my pit today as I received the Honeycomb Bravo I’ve been waiting to be able to find in Canada at MSRP forever now. Now that I have it, all my Logitech panels have been removed as they’re now redundant. It’s nice and clean now and I’m just loving it.

Currently set up for the C172, but of course with Air Manager on those touch screens and with a pair of Knobsters, I can pretty much set up any plane type.

Looks great. I have been working on my DCS panel with Virpil controls the last 3 weeks. Should be done this weekend then back to my FS2020 panels. Configuring the controls is taking me forever, tons of switches, buttons, knobs and encoders plus I’m new to Virpil and DCS. FS2020 is easy compared to this.

This was my setup before I took it down to make changes and work on the DCS setup.

Looking really neat - congrats.
You say “with a pair of Knobsters” - do you feel the need to have one for each touch screen then? I currently have two touch screens, but only one knobster, and find this seems to work OK?
And how do you do your radios - via the StreamDeck, or do you use the touch screens and Knobsters?
If via StreamDeck, can I ask which profiles you use, or did you make your own?
I am currently using Saitek/Logitech radio panels x 2, plus their Mutli Panel x 1, and am thinking of ditching the Multi Panel also, as my Bravo TQ arrived about a week ago.
I had not thought of ditching the radio panels, but now you mention it, the setup without them does indeed look much “cleaner”.
Hope all goes well with you, and thanks in advance (as usual!).

You only need 1 Knobster. I added a second merely out of convenience and ease of use. As an example in my photo, when I work the GNS units (particularly when entering approaches or flight plans) on the right side of the right screen, it’s quicker and easier to have the knob I’m using right there beside the GNS vs between the screens. Also, when using the autopilot, if I use the Knobster on the left screen, my hand and arm obstruct my view of the AP display, so I have to lean sideways and contort my arm in an odd, uncomfortable position to be able to see the AP display. It’s not necessary to have multiples. It’s just nice and convenient.

As for radios, I use my touch screens and Knobsters. The only exception is when flying G3000/5000 planes. Then I use my StreamDeck. However, once / if they get proper touch support implemented, I’ll likely switch to using that. I don’t have it set up in my pic, but I run SpaceDesk and an iPad as an external wireless monitor as well. When flying the TBM, I’ll have that set up on the side. I have the MFD and PFD on my main screens and the GTC 580 touch screen plus an autopilot unit on the iPad. I can then use the Knobster to control the MFD maps without resorting to using my mouse.

As for what I use on StreamDeck, I use the Flight Tracker plugin and just the default radio panel layout.

And the Logitech multi panel is totally redundant once you have both the Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo. There’s really no good reason to have both in your setup at that point. Having the LED display of the Logi panel is nice in some cases, but in most planes or if you’re using Air Manager, that info is available elsewhere anyway.

You have an Arrow panel. Is what payware from Sim Innovations? I haven’t seen this and would love to get this as well. I got the Turbo Arrow and have been building my own with limited success.

I downloaded a free version for XP11 then modified it to work with FS2020. It is for the non turbo. Just needs a few things added for the Turbo version.
There is a guy on the Air Manager forum that is working on one and I have offered to help and to help with testing so hoping to have a better one soon.

Brilliant - thanks for the comprehensive answer. Regards, A
