Problems and bugs in MSFS 2024

Apart from the servers issue…will it be possible to have a list of bugs and issues acknowledged so far by the developers by customer feedback at this forum and a schedule of fixing this issues ?

Check the Bug Reporting section. I’m sure the actual list would be massive (and embarrasing).

Many aren’t getting flagged yet. I suppose it’s a triage problem at this point. For me I see these as the big three categories

  1. Navaids/ATC/AI are unfinished
  2. Incomplete and untested airplane models
  3. VR Problems with collision meshes and dialog menus

Item 1 is so unfinished I think it would solve a huge number of problems. I see people can’t do career mode for getting dinged by ATC problems. I expect this will be a big focus.

Items 2 points to a lack of attention to detail and rushing out the door. Major things will probably be fixed but I suspect it will be up to community mods to polish off the airplanes.

Item 3 has me worried as they have been slow to fix anything related to VR. But some of the issues are bad enough they may try.

Hey guys! Congratulations, we all were scammed. We bought the most bugged pre-alpha of the game for the price higher than 99% of all existing good games.
This game is not playable, it spits and laugh at your face at EACH step.
You want to buy a plane and perform missions? Here is a white plane with white name of your company. You want to repaint it? It’s a scam - you will pay and nothing will happen. Same as Wash and Delegated maintenance - you pay a lot of credits and nothing happens.
Ok, let’s try to fly it - and here we are, staying at the top of the building. Ready for taxi… Ok, let’s skip taxi and here is a penaly - you crossed the runway. Ok, takeoff. Let’s skip to landing? Here is another penalty: your landing light is off even though you switched it on before skip and there is a noon. ATC is not responding on commands, AI voice glitches as hell… Sometimes there are parts of game code instead of buttons…
Ok, let’s try to get a license for helicopter? Nah, you will not pass the “Cyclic” training cause it’s bugged. You skipped it and you want to try SAR mission? Big mistake. First of all - you are on helicopter, so you need…? Correct, taxi to the beginning of the runway, getting penalties for high-speed taxiing. You found a victim? Haha try to land in the dense forest or in the middle of the lake.
You want to pass Tornado mission? It will crash at the end and you will lose all your experience, dropping your reputation to C level.
You want to try agricultural mission? I’d love to see how you manage to land on the truck. And in the end of the mission it will tell you that you spilled everything outside of the field…
I can continue endlessly, there are too much bugs. And I have a question:
Is there ANYTHING in this game that was tasted, that doesn’t have any bugs? At least anything? Any menu? Any part of any mission? Any location in the world? Any aircraft? I want to enjoy this game without seeing all that ■■■■, but how? Please help!

how about posting your rant in one of the existing threads that cover exactly the same issues? Posting a new topic is nothing but self-serving and attention seeking

I agree, dont play career if you are not willing to accept significant bugs and loss of credis and reputation for no reason. I can recommand free flight and world photographer though, at least for planes that are playable. There you will have lot of fun with magnificient grahpics.

Yeah, sorry, but my butt literally exploded when I was trying to do a SAR on my own helicopter. I landed on a hill and while it was playing an animation of a survivor running towards the helicopter, the helicopter sled towards the trees and crashed and I couldn’t do anything with that

Nah, enough for today. This is my next flight after the last message. I can’t take it anymore

No, he added another voice where the general public are more likely to see it. The more that see it, the more sales might be affected, as that appears to be the only thing that would motivate MS/Asobo to fix it.

Look at the bugs in this forum, that other users have confirmed, that are still not listed as bugs.

I paid extra for more default aircraft, and the sounds, electrical systems, control surfaces and liveries on those aircraft should all function as promised.

We paid for and deserve far better that the minimal “viable” product that we got. I will not back down until they fix the BASIC bugs that plague the game.

In other words, don’t try to enjoy the game you bought and paid for. How is that helpful?

I think it is a pity that we are again seeing the same bugs that we saw at the beginning of FS2020.

It would appear they used an old FS2020 build to then develop FS2024.

At the moment, I think there are over a 1000 bugs affecting aircraft, scenery and bandwidth / loading (aircraft and scenery)

However, I think FS2024 will become outstanding flight simulator.

PS. I am not really interested in the ‘game elements’ - I just want a realistic and stable sim.

I just hope they learned from 2020 and will focus on bugs, bugs, bugs, bugs, bugs. What I am assuming will happen instead is world update, new plane, world update, new plane, new plane, world update, sim update, new plane, etc.

The rant is fair, but I think I’ll get back to my (checks notes) 214th flight since Day 4 when it became fun for me.

Don’t hold your breath. They don’t seem to learn from their mistakes.

That is one of the most frustrating parts.
It is 2020 at its core and so many of the 2020 bugs that were never fixed still remain, such as roads and road traffic that was said to be improved but the marginal improvements seem to consist of slightly higher textures for vehicles and better headlights while all the immersion breaking bugs that were present in the 2020 Alpha remain!

That is not consistent with Microsoft’s claim that 2024 is a new game, it is 2020 with DX12 improvements, lighting improvements, air traffic improvements, tree improvements, ground scattering and some additional content.
I haven’t seen anything that could not have been introduced to 2020 as updates or DLC.

Perhaps the biggest offence is ATC still being the awful 2020 implementation, this is supposed to be the most advanced flight sim on the market and after 5 years of patches and improvements and being asked to pay premium price all over again it is still in Alpha state.

Thank goodness there are great 3rd party alternatives, but things that are core to the sim experience should be in the game. Especially yet another version claiming to be a leap forward over the last iteration.

You are exaggerating, as far as I am concerned, after two days everything is (almost perfect) with a level of detail that I have never seen before.
We can do VFR with FS2024.
And with everything in ultra I find that it is very fluid (35 to 65+ FPS).
I7 12700K - RX7800XT 16GB GDDR6 - 64GB RAM DDR4 3600 - Samsung Odyssey 49" screen

I don’t think it’s the buggiest game I’ve ever seen. I get what you are saying though. I’m old and have lived long enough to see some monumentally bad releases.

The thing that makes this game particularly egregious is that it is so very clearly a branched development from 2020. They started with 2020 as a base (code base) and came out with this. It takes a lot of effort to take a working product and mess it up this bad. Further compounded by the fact that it is also clear bug fixes that happened in 2020 after said branching of the code base, were never ported to 2024 (a merge in dev speak).

I think even companies we associate with bad releases could have done better than this if someone handed them 2020 as a base. That is what makes this particularly bad. It feels as though this was slapped together in 6 months. I personally think most of this game had to have been outsourced. I do find it hard to believe that Asobo would have come up with this themselves. The sheer quantity of things a normal development pipeline would have refused that got into release… It’s just hard to believe. If they did do this themselves, they have to be incredibly incompetent or have some of the worst management in any company ever lol.

It’s extremely disappointing and boggles the mind as to how it even happened.

It can get frustrating at times… i’ve managed to do 100 hours in career mode of which around 20 are wasted and has affected my reputation negatively, but it’s doable. They shoud’ve just named it an early release and have the official release date set somewhere in 2025. Now they’re risking a huge group of buyers who’ll hold back on buying next editions to come.

On the other hand though, the idea of what they have in mind is clear to us and looks promising. It just needs time though and Microsoft needs to relax with their deadlines and give Asobo room to breath.

Just wait it out, Asobo will fix everything.

There cannot be enough rant topics to emphasize the terrible state FS24 is in.
I hope they keep on coming as long as MS doesn’t take proper action.
We’re like 11 days in and it’s still a mess.

And many of the problems stem from changing things that didn’t need to be changed, like the UI and default command mappings. We were all accustomed to how things worked and where to find them and they went and changed it all simply for the purpose of changing something. Of course, having been a Microsoft software user for 35 years, this shouldn’t surprise me.
