Yep. I rave about this add-on every chance I get. I live in Colorado but learned to ski first in the Alps. There’s something about seeing the lifts, almost all of which are positioned about as close to reality as is possible, that really adds to the immersion , esp in VR.
These plus Global AI Ship Traffic are the best free add-on out there.
This all looks fantastic - off to get them now! Thanks for the heads-up. Cheers.
I eat these kind of addons up!
Anything that adds to the immersion / realism (that looks and performs good of course) I grab (freeware or payware).
I get at cruising altitude not much of it matters, but on the way up and down, if I can see it in the real world, I want it to be a part of the sim.
Can’t wait for the Powerlines and Solar farms to be extended to North America as well.
I keep a running list of all my add-ons (and these are on it). If anyone is interested.
According to the addon description most (almost all) pylons are automatically placed, according to freely available data from openstreetmap.org and other data sources (Bing maps).
The author said that the biggest challenge is getting accurate altitude data, as the 3D mesh in MSFS ever so slightly deviates even from altitude data available via the Bing map API (not to mention from other available altitude data).
But at least as far as the pylons are concerned you can apparently help, by adding such data to openstreetmap (free registration required, obviously - and perhaps you need to gain some “trust level” first, too, I don’t know…)! There is a small how-to on the addon description page and the author wrote that he would run an automated script every then and when to update the pylon positions (including their type, I assume).
So keep on clicking them pylons ![]()
So much thanks for your kind comments guys!!
Really really appreciated!
Yeahh all the data Is from Openstreetmap, so thanks to all the mappers that took their time enhanching them!
I manually added myself most of the missing pylons (roughly 60.000, about 50% of the total worlds pylon)
To achieve a realistic result, and to help Asobo do their “planned for 2022” task
I think that some animation can be possible with sdk tools, at least for cable cars with only One cabin,
I Just Need to figure out how, because i know It Is there but still not documented, It Is something hidden in the living world stuff
Actually the moving thing can’t be automated,
I already think about hiding cabins and chairs during summertime, but to do that you have to use so called Simobjects…and in large ski resorts there Will Be thousands of them in a small area
And the Sim can’t handle too much of them, they Will kill your framerate, maybe in the future there Will be more optimization ![]()
I wouldn’t worry about this too much: first of all, they look nice, also in the summer. And most importantly some of them (cabins and chairs - but obviously not t-bar and platter lifts, but the cables for those aren’t visible anyway, or so I understand) actually are running during summertime, too - for hikers. At least in Switzerland ![]()
Coming soon, to a sim near you.
The “Old McDonals Has a Farm”, livestock Update.
Now when you fly over fields, you will see Cows (and Bulls !), masses of sheep in New Zealand, and even the occasional chicken. and goat !!
Warning: Do NOT the the COW slider up too far – because it may affect the weather with all the methane generated – Global Warming etc etc.
“IMMERSION baby” !!
Great idea my friend
You know, they have made the Earth Twin, so lets fill It with Earth stuff!
They should implement realistic aerial work sooner or later, this Will push the simulator to a whole new level: the casual gamer…that Is, by the way, a kind of a cow to milk ![]()

I will only be statisfied with this sim once I have bugs splattering on the windshield. With all the spieces accurately rendered through their whole lifecycle.
But seriously…I downloaded it tonight and have already been enjoying flying over some of my favourite runs in les 3 vallées. And yes, many of the lifts do run through the summer months carrying mountain bikers and alpinists.
Thanks mate!
As an hiker and alpinist myself, I’m aware that a lot of lifts are available during summer too ![]()
The great thing about OSM data Is that has tags to describe whether a lift Is opened during summer,
It also has a tag for detachable lifts, allowing making them invisible during the night (some lifts store cabins and chairs to avoid damage due to Wind/bad wheather)
This kind of custumization Is possible using Simobjects, maybe in a future update Will try to sneak in some tweak
Like special chair with bycicles hanging
And of course some humans as well!
Oh, I think it is just awesome as it is. I’m so grateful that you and others make the effort with these projects. A sincere thank you.
A big thank you for this add on. I am a long time skiier (as well as pilot) and it makes such a difference in realism. Keep up the good work!
Any news on this project?
Hi Lorenzo, are you expecting some special kind of updates ?
By now, the world coverage of the projects is complete
Have you some ideas or features I can add?
Gorgeous!!!
Yep, I really like this add-on. Cheers.
