Hello everyone, I have problems with XPforce. To be exact I have not managed to make it work since I bought it.
I have XP force beta, MSFS2020 SU10 Beta, windows 10, sidewinder FFB2 joystick.
I launch XPforce, it starts MSFS, I launch a flight, and the only effect I get is a regular oscillation from left to right. Whatever the plane is doing doesn’t affect it and there is no other effect.
If I click on the XPforce settings windows while in flight, it is “not responding” but as soon as I hit escape to enter the in game menu, the settings is responding again.
On the last page of XPforce seeing, “joystick active” is not ticked, I can’t tick it, and see nothing on the force graph.
Here are some screen grab if it may help.
Whichever update was there a fortnight ago I was aware that there has been one available for some time, but didnt bother as it was working well and to be honest, was a bit tired of updates eating into my available time for flying. Nonetheless, it all works well for me and so I am a happy traveller.
Go to your XPforce settings and check for the update which you can install over the top of the existing one and you should be good to go.
You might want to open a ticket on his support site, although you may or may not have better luck there. I’ve got a couple of open tickets there. Here’s the link:
I ended up reverting to an older version and all is ok now.
I’m finding the elevator droop effect at idle on the ground is backwards. The stick should move forward with a downward deflected elevator. It’s currently doing the opposite.
@jimkeir Any chance of a global “on/off” switch to disable/disconnect and reenable XPForce without quitting the application? Would be useful for switching between non-FFB (e.g. Airbus) and FFB aircraft in the same session without having to completely dump and reboot the sim to get XPForce back after quitting (could even make “disable XPF” an option in aircraft config)
So I have discovered that the reversed effect for elevator droop is related to the fact that my stick is not an MSFFB2 stick. It seems XPforce is tuned with an MSFFB2 in mind.
@jimkeir could you please have an option for non-MSFSSB2 sticks which reverses (the correct way) the force vector for the elevator on the ground?
You can save different configs per aircraft, which are loaded automatically. Force strength can be varied, of course, and it’s already aware of FBW systems to some extent.
