QualityWings 787 for MSFS has been announced!

I find it utterly amazing the entitlement of flight simmers thinking developers owe them anything, especially for products that haven’t been purchased (but also for stuff that has been purchased). My goodness.

QW often releases its products by surprise. They only announce that they are working on a product, and then there is total silence until a few days before the release, it’s their way of working. They did it in Prepare3d and they are probably doing it now.
When the 787 was being developed for prepar3d, many of us believed that it had been canceled because there was no news or even rumours, apart from its initial announcement. More than a year late from their estimations, they released it by surprise. I’m sure they will do the same in MSFS. When will they release it? We won’t know until a few days before.
Do not be surprised that suddenly before the summer, or in fall, QW appears with its 787. They are already a year behind schedule… as always.

I did not remember that, who knows, you might be right after all, I just think it is weird that they have not said anything, one would think they would want to generate a bit of hype, if only once every 3 months, so people can plan the budget to buy it when it comes out.

One would not think that.

I personally think it’s time we all gave up on QualityWings. They would have communicated by now if they wanted anyone to know what they’ve been working on.

Maybe PMDG will take it on… :crossed_fingers:

Quality Wings is weird. I hope I’m right. Their 787 for Prepar3d is very good. They would do a great job in MSFS. But, as I just said, they are weird. We could have their 787 tomorrow, or never… Who knows, as you said. I hope they’re developing it in silence, as always they do.

I doubt it. PMDG will develop the products they already have experience with: the 737, the 777 and the 747. Then, maybe they will develop a 767 or 787, but there are years for that.

Well, a year ago they showed screenshots of what it seemed a very developed 787. We believed they would release it in a few months. I don’t think they’ve cancelled this project. Maybe they have problems like PMDG had. But the difference is QW doesn’t say anything. Is frustrating, but hope is the last thing that is lost. We’ll see.

QW is kind of different, they have been doing this since FSX and Prepar3D for two sim releases where they announce the initial product and then go dead silent for a year missing their initial expected release window that they announce by a long shot. Then after a while out of the blues, they come out of nowhere and announce the release date a couple days before. They have done that from the past two iterations and believe they are doing the same. I haven’t given up on them because of the way how they done it before when it comes to marketing. They are odd, but if they have cancelled it, they would have said something about it. No dev would ever make a promise and generate a lot of hype only to cancel it and not let the people waiting on it know.

Good morning to everyone, I’ve done an interesting post at their forums which made lot of people talk on it and finally be one of the only ones that made Qualitywings talk, this is the answer:

Translation: it will come when it will, but stop hoping/waiting. It’s nowhere close.

Good news, this is all we needed, it will peobably take 1 or 2 years to see it flying but at least we know it will eventually come!

I wonder what is taking them so long. PMDG is already betatesting their 737. I guess their team is bigger then?

Every two weeks somebody comes on here and asks the same question. I guess this is your shift?

Well you can hardly call it news but at least it was something

Seems being wildly off the estimates made them extra cautious and they are hesitant in making any commitments now. Lets see, how does it go.

Actually, it seems that most aircraft developers are waiting for something, or not?
PMDG has delayed their 737 from Q12022 to now, without a certain release date. Fenixsim 320, no news since Feb.2022. As for Aerosoft CRJ, not good enough. QualityWings are waiting. So do iFly.

Aerosoft CRJ is working fine. No problems there

PMDG is set to release soon, within the next couple of weeks. Follow their forums
