Quest 2 Quality

These are my thoughts exactly. I wish I could look through someone’s headset so I could get a baseline to compare mine too.

Do you know where to download it? I cannot seem to find it for my oculus quest 2

Thank you!

Hey! I am new to VR and how Oculus does things. Is updating SS in OTT different than directly increasing the Resolution in the Oculus application?

is it better for performance to leave Oculus app at 1.0, and adjust SS in OTT? i have pushed SS in the Oculus App to 1.7, reduced Render scale to 70/80 in MSFS.

I’m interested in the above too as I currently have my oculus app set at x1.7 for resolution at 90hz and my OTT set at 0.8 otherwise it’s unbelievably stuttery. I just wonder whether I’m trying to enable double the values of the super sampling by enabling it in Oculus App AND the Oculus Tray Tool, that might explain my poor performance!

Could you tell me where you find the Graphics Settinsg for Oculus? In my Oculus app, I see no option for Graphics Settings, with the slider, that you show.

They are within the Oculus Debug Tool on your PC within the Program Files and Oculus Folder.
You need to open this first and any settings you make are temporary and revert to default when you close it.
Go to the Oculus Debug tool (Default folder should be C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics)

I had acceptable performance when the update was announced but every time I try my Oculus Quest 2 with MSFS VR it seems that performance is getting worse with each try.

A week ago I could fly smoothly but stuttering started to happen on landing which didn’t before. Now it just stutters from the get go. I reinstalled MSFS and it ran great for a day. Now back to really poor VR performance.

Anybody else experiencing something similar?

Thank you. I’ll try this. There seems to be no “save” in the debut tool. You just change the value and leave the window open and as soon as it changes - it takes efffect on the goggles?

Yes Run as Administrator Change the Settings, keep it open while you run the Oculus App and Flight Sim.

I downloaded the oculus tray tool to see if I could also get better results with my Quest 2 but I don’t see the option for 18Hz.. all is see is a choice of ‘Off’ ‘Auto’ or ‘45fps’ ? Can anyone point me in the right direction please? bit of a noob when it comes to all things PC

It is labelled Default ASW you can put 18 in that box

At last a video without jerky excessive head movements thanks.
How do you use the video recorder options to do this.
I have an Oculus 2 headset.

You need to check for update, if you can’t see the option, after the update, you should be all set !

Yeah, I’ve done it now, turns out the version most people have been linking is not the up to date one, so I updated from within the tray tool itself and now I see all the options available :+1:

In Oculus dash before enabling link you’ll find the video recorder under share. When it’s recording you’ll see a red dot. It’s low Rez but easy.

You need 86.9

What does that mean ? A version number ? Where can it be found ?

Yes, I’ve got it now, the links I’ve seen being posted were mostly for the old version so I’ve updated from within the app now
