I always like changes in weather during a journey, because it brings unexpected situations or changing light, clouds, winds and so on. I just flew from Tampa down through the everglades and the weather changed, bringing fog into Everglades Airpark, where I wanted to touch and go. I lined up and then made a left pattern using some judgement based on my speed, positioning and runway heading and it appeared in front of me on final just in time to touch and go - I was going too fast and only just made it off the runway before the water
The everglades weren’t as impressive as I thought they might be (still amazing though!)… until I flew over a big campsite which was in my plan but I’d forgotten about… I could make out the individual plots and the site buildings, etc.
My next leg of the journey is over Miami and then down the Florida Keys.
oh yeah… and one other thing I learned recently… Floridians must really, really, really like golf! There are golf courses everywhere in this part of the World!!!
