as was said, there is a consideration to be made regaring the position and orientation of the camera in relation to the sun/horizon that will affect how you see (perceive?) the sky
Tried to recreate it in the sim… but it’s really impossible to compare unless we knew the exact time the photo was taken, where it was taken, what direction the camera was pointed, etc…
Certainly to me those colours look more realistic than the orange we normally see so much of the time in live weather.
You can still see that the whites of the clouds are yellow though in your shot. This is what I very very rarely see in real life.
In real life, certainly in my location, Europe, the whites of the cloud are white and then become a grey/blue, as can be seen in my real world photo, and get darker as the sun goes down. I don’t see yellow/orange clouds.
I think the sim is tuned to always do an ideal “Hawaiian” sunset. They probably don’t have a feasible way to implement the different looking skies you can get all over the world at the moment.
Probably will have to wait to see what they do in MSFS 2024 with the new atmospheric engine. I don’t think we will see any changes to the current lighting. I do agree…looks too tropical all the time and probably due to the clouds not being dense enough allowing too much light to come through creating the orange effect.
