What are the main differences in the PMDG 777-200 and the Freighter (except cabin and engines) in the sim?
A330 Driver has a recent YT video where, if I recall correctly, during a walk around of the 200ER he described wing differences between the 300ER and Freighter; so if I recall correctly, there is a wing design difference from the freighter.
The 777F shares the same wing design with the 300ER, with the raked wingtips.
The 200ER is an earlier model 777, and has the original straighter wingtip design. The flight characteristics are said to be slightly different. Not that Iāve ever flown one. But can observe they do look quite different.

Thank you both. Iām aware of the differences in the real life planes. Was wondering if there was a valid reason for me to buy the -200 since I already own the -300 and the Freighter. Was wondering if there were significant improvements or system, graphic, or other enhancements in the -200.
Putting on my Xbox hat, Iām not sure. From my time flying Series X, I was and still am impressed that the subjective experience of flight differed between the 77W and the Freighter. I flew both of those on Series X quite a bit and was glad I added the Freighter to my hangar. That said, I was expecting the 200ER to fly much like the Freighter does but guess again, it too feels different enough to me to be a distinct and meaningful (to me) purchase. Then there is the 2024 thing. Both on Series X and my new PC, the flight feel is much better when things work in 24 than in 2020 (and I do love both sims still). This is all quite subjective, so YMMV, right?
Now I have been so deeply engaged in both setting up/tuning the new PC concurrently with SU2 beta participation that I have not flown the Box in over two months. While I still have it and am keeping it up to date, the hardware peripherals are a major pain to rewire, that is so different from PC to Xbox itās truly daunting.
So long story short, I think if 2024 is working for you AND you find the flight dynamics different/improved enough from 2020, then perhaps consider the 200ER as the first PMDG product designed with 2024 in mind. On PC, it is that good; but the difference may not be relevant to all consumers, depending on what others value and are looking for in a new airliner model. What are you thoughts so far?
Thanks Iām on XSX as well and have a good bit of hours on both the 77W and 777-F. Love them both but not sure I want another passenger variation. But you make a good point that it has the 2024 flight dynamics. Iām still flying both 777s in 2020and they are great but enjoying the CRJ at the moment since it just released. Will have to wait for the MP release of the -200 anyways so have time to research.
We most certainly would love to do so, but the current SDK does not provide any information on how to do so.
In an interview a long time ago Jorg said that it would be possible as long as the aircraft was also sold on the Marketplace (so that it can be verified by Microsofft). Letās hope this will come to fruition.

Thanks for your reply. Please, would you be able to advise us when the SDK issue might be discussed again with Jorg or whether there are plans in the pipeline to add it to the Marketplace in the future? I would love the option (and I am sure would many others) to use her in all the areas of 2024.
Itās not PMDGs fault but itās really disappointing to hear we are no closer to using 3rd party aircraft in career mode since November. Asobo canāt even get their own heavys into career mode, as they are still locked for a reason. Career mode is so baked and Asobo has far too many things above the priority list, itās going to be a very long time before we see any Inibuilds or PMDG offerings in career mode.
Interesting what you say about the 3060.
Can you give more details about your settings in FS24 using this card?
Thank You.
When we know something about that, we gladly share it!

I gotta say: I was pretty much only interested in the 737 and DC-6 before, but after giving in and experiencing the 777 first hand I canāt wait to get my grubby little hands on the PMDG 747. Hopefully we wonāt have to wait too long. Until then: lots of 777 flights.
Wow, the wipers actually work! How deluxe.
and this B777-200ER Freezing every time, and pmdg support dont know this, maybe Asobo bugs they told me today. wasm crash

Ok Iāll bite and take one for the teamā¦.
Currently in the MSFS20/24 sim environment , PMDG have not released a B777-200LR. It is expected to be released as the final 777 before they get on to the 747s and 737 re-vamps.
That being said, they do have the 777-200ER, -300ER, and the F variant for MSFS2020 and only the 777-200ER out for MSFS 2024.
If you are trying to ask for help on something that does not exist yet and getting frustrated at a lack of response, just make sure you are asking for help on the correct model variant that they offer. Iām sure it is a misunderstanding, but they canāt help if they do not have the correct information.
Emeraldo, I am not sure I understand your post. We have been very open and clear about these plans, and I do not see any open questions from you (assuming you use the same screen name) in any of our channels.
Exactly what is your question?

Do they work in fs20?
Hi, he is replying to āPetterwstoā who was concerned because he was not getting support for his queries from PMDG.
Emerald0771346 was just trying to reply to him/her to help.
It is Petterswto who needs the help. Something about a B777-200LR, which EM⦠said was not yet released which is why he has not got help.
My 4th PMDG aircraft after buying the 737, DC-6 and 777-300. I couldnāt wait for the free 777-300 on MSFS 2024 and also wanted to help PMDG with their cash flow.
Does B777-200ER benefit from MSFS2024 in any way, or is it just MSFS2020 aircraft that is MSFS2024 compatible?
