Well, my update along with many others confirming it on streams was 10.93gb via the Xbox Store manager on PC . This was not just a ‘Quick Hotfix’ for me, any information on that? Is that the ‘unpacked’ size? Seems very hefty for a graphics tweek.
The release was a complete shambles but at least it’s clear they’re fixing things gradually. Over the last week i’m glad to see the career mode fix for missing missions, and much more stability with live traffic.
It took them a week to fix something that should have been fixed in an hour.
If you know what you’re doing it would take a couple of hours ![]()
You must be in the software industry knowing how long it takes to fix things.
No sarcasm.
When finaly the Marketplace???
Considering that the screens were working before the last update it wouldn’t be hard to find what went wrong. It was something related to texture since the ones that had it set to high didn’t have issues. That is not more than a couple of hours of work.
This flightsim platform was dead on arrival. What a disaster. After all this time since release they come up with this minor fix for XBOX users. What about us using the PC? There are tons of bugs is this GAME.
Hello @Voss1917,
The issue that was resolved in today’s hotfix also affected simmers on PC. If you were using High or Ultra graphics settings, you would have been unaffected, but PC simmers using Low/Med graphics were also impacted by this issue.
Thanks,
MSFS Team
The thing is, avionics failures can brick airplanes (see: 747, 737M, Heart et al), so we’re not really talking about a “cosmetic fix”. And that could affect career mode flights as well
Are you able to confirm what my 10.93gb update was for on PC. I had a large update about 10 mins ago that does not correlate with your information for the small hotfix? Other users on YT streams are also reporting a large 10+gb update for PC.
I think, the cosmetic fix was for blank avionics screens in some jets. Common working workaround for this was using high or ultra textures.
Hello @Rumpelzuck,
Today’s update was not a cosmetic fix. It was to resolve a regression introduced with the 1.2.8.0 update that caused avionics on some aircraft to be non-functional on Xbox and also on PC if using Low/Med graphics options.
Thanks,
MSFS Team
It was basically a step back. When will we get a couple of steps forward?
I meant his bug: Today's patch has broken the Airbus displays - 20/12/2024
Seems to be working now according to last post. “cosmetic fix” was not correct wording from me.
No, Stability and performance affects everyone. thats why I think that should go first. your suggestion only is for you
Yes, so at the end of the first week back from holiday, we are back to where we should have been before christmas.
Maybe next year Asobo shouldn’t run and lock the office doors the second a patch is pushed, just incase there are fairly simple yet gamebreaking regressions to fix?
to be fair, these last couple fixes has been all about MSobos main focus - Game aspect and xbox. Im expecting the next fixes to be about photomode, hiking and animals on ground - and more game gimmick fixes.
Anything related to aircraft flying simulation is probably at the bottom of the list.
Keep doubling down MSobo, average players trend sure is looking good.
It fixed a serious issue for many players. Just because it didn’t help you, it doesn’t mean it was a step back at all.
