RELEASE NOTES 1.2.11.0 Discussion

By step back he means this fix was already implemented but got removed on accident in December. It took a month for them to re-publish a fix they had already designed two months ago.

I was also affected so it did. My point was this was working 3 weeks ago before their “fix” that broke the screens. The step back means they went back to the state before the fix.

Well said. When I tried to express a similar thought, I received a guideline warning for being something or other.

Hello @BorealBrooks,

The post to which you linked was not an Official Warning. The forum staff only issue Official Warnings (via private message, never publicly) in cases where forum users violate the Code of Conduct.

Is there any information on the update size and unpacked size please. Was my 10.93gb update for the screens really that big?

Hello @Acos95,

The download size of today’s hotfix will vary depending on which version of the sim you previously had installed. If your download was 10.93 GB, then it most likely also downloaded one or more of the previous updates (such as 1.2.8.0 and/or 1.2.7.0).

In my case, today’s hotfix was only about 300 MB, but I already had the latest prior version of the sim (1.2.8.0) installed.

Thanks,

The update was 500mB for me.
Update can be big when large libraries are updated. Every file that was touched has to be downloaded again even if the change to that file is just a few bytes.

No one has problems with them taking time of for family. We have problems with the abysmal state of the sim since release. If they released a finished product with a couple of bugs no one would say anything. But 600+ bugs is unacceptable.
The biggest problem is the lack of any feedback. Even if they don’t tell us what they’re fixing at the moment we should be able to know when we’ll get the still missing features. You know the things we paid for that should have been there since launch.

Spent a lot of time today working up an AP bug. Very depressing if this update today is the expected response.

I was bang up to date also, so that’s interesting. Could it be related to having the Aviators version?

Bonjour
Merci

Hello
I’m a Gamer on Xbox Series X
When will we have information on the bug of the uncontrollable mouse in free look in the cockpit?
Hundreds of players have been asking for a fix for 2 months.
There are several topics on this forum without an official response from MS.
It’s quite painful.
Thank you

A 2.6GB update for me (PC) and I was already on latest version of sim prior to this update.

Yea, what a great flight I had last evening. FF Smooth as butter, scenery was good, addon’s working ok. I got a feeling of hope. Today? A hotfix? Broke mine. What happened? All controls erased, UI set to default, Things here were running ok until 1hr ago. Patience? Geezzz,.

Ok so you and many others including myself found it unacceptable. Reasonable people would immediately ask for a refund after expressing their displeasure once or twice.
Or others .. like myself made sure MSFS2020 remained fully installed on their PC and fell right back into using it regularly.

They (The dev team) already gave feedback.. What you do with the feedback given is up to you.

You can keep having a moan about the issues that we all know exist or give them the space to fix it. This it not the work of a few weeks and most reasonable people will surmise that the bulk of the initial fixes will be in SU1 … as stated by the Devs and the moderation team.

You can put the sim down for a few weeks and check back in post SU1, ask for a refund if possible. or keep complaining… the thing is i honestly do not think coming on the forums to constantly whinge is going to make the work happen any much faster..

The last Forza Motorsport (Also a MS production) was in a similar mess and it took a full year to get them to sort themselves out and that dev team was pretty much US based and on property. So expect the time frame to be similar if not longer.

I don’t want my money back, I just want them to do better.

A week to fix server side vip jobs missing is inexcusable.

A month to re-deploy a fix that had already been written and accidentally removed in inexcusable.

Even if there was only one employee doing all of the dev work during the holiday season, the time frame for those two fixes is hard to understand. Especially when they’re trying to make up for the original disaster of a launch.

Where is the feedback for the marketplace, heavy cargo missions, 2 missing certifications adn the air races? And don’t say Q1 because thats a 3 month span which doesn’t give any definitive information.

Reasonable people would expect the sim to release completed and not a work in progress. Why wasn’t it mentioned before release that it’s far from finished? Considering a paid quite a lot in terms of a game for this I think I have every right to complain since they did not deliver what was promised.

If it was free then the argument of put it down and wait could be valid but not when you pay so much for something and not be able to use it.

Didn’t play Forza so can’t comment on that.

I get the frustration with the state of the sim, but let’s add some perspective. Many of those bugs are minor issues that don’t affect most player’s experience. Major bugs are being prioritized. Let’s not conflate minor hiccups with catastrophic failures.

Well they are the realities of the situation .. at the moment.

Ill keep watching the thread from here on out..

Cheers

The feedback for all you asked was given in the first QA ..

They are in progress. You had a chance to ask for a refund if you felt that strongly about it .. many took that option. The fact that you didn’t doesn’t remove your right to complain but it now places you firmly at the mercy of the time frames implemented … like it or not.

he has the right to complain, the right of asking a refund doesn’t replace our right to protest about the sim state and the gap between what was being advertised and the reality of the sim…
