[RELEASED] Aeroplane Heaven Cessna C-140

Automixture is available in MSFS right from the config file. You change from 0 to 1 to make it work in engine.cfg file. But that takes the best mixture ratio so if the one on the real DC-3 is less accurate then they would have to code a custom one.

Love the flap handle between the seats ,real old school alright.I might buy this if its reasonable price.

The 150 I flew while earning my PPL had one… the assembly is called a “Johnson Bar.” I liked it because you could feel the resistance of the airstream through the direct mechanical linkage.

Unfortunately the DC-3 needs some custom programming - a range of settings for auto-rich and a second range for auto-lean. It was a pretty sophisticated system in its day. Got some exposure to the programming issues as a fringe member of the beta test team for Manfred’s freeware version. I feel for AH having to deal with it. Just wish they’d fill us in.

Is Manfred going to bring his one to MSFS? It was superb, and when my old mate Jan Visser added his VC, that was the icing on the cake.

Same here ,it was kind of an ancient 150 when I did a couple of circuits in it back in 1990.I guess you will be getting it for sure ,I did my ppl in a 150 , the model after the fast back.

The one I flew back then was a 1965 150E, the last year of the conventional “square” empennage and the last with the flap lever between the seats. My TR-4 had more room in the cockpit!

Can’t speak for him, of course, but I don’t think so. He’s said he has no plans to move it over - and given the demands of MSFS development, I think that’s probably definitive. A shame - it was a fantastic product, especially with Jan’s VC. For an equivalent, I think we have to hope for a PMDG DC-3, which seems likely, but based on what they’ve said, probably not 'til late next year or sometime the year after.

Maybe put a G1000 in a Spitfire… I’m sure you can squeeze it in there too… And the required GRS unit will find a place too, I’m sure… maybe in the back so people can throw their baggage on it when they fly to their vacation resort.

Ok, a more serious tone: the colours of the “non equipped” model are way too shrill for me. The airplane itself causes a big smile here, my gf and I flew a C150 taildragger from Germany to Calabria (southern Italy) in 2017. I love those tiny bug smashers. But I looked for some AH C140 videos (FSX/P3D) on YT and what I foudn there wasn’t so tempting at all. I’ll wait and see, maybe it’s better due to the possibilities of MSFS.

I’ll buy it and fly it. This is a flight sim after all.
AH make very nice aircrafts for the other sims so I’m hoping this will be at least as good.
How else will we know if not by testing and flying this one?
Looking forward to it

It never ceases to amuse me how many people feel the need to come into a thread about a new addon just to announce they are not going to buy it

I’ll be shortly behind you in line to buy it if your first impressions are positive! I flew the Globe Swift a ton in P3D, even before it was freeware and enjoyed it so I trust they can deliver good product, not familiar with this particular model of theirs though.

We’re having a conversation about an addon, in a forum about it? If all you ever heard was one side of a conversation that’d get very boring.

besides - more than half the people who say they’ll never buy something generally have it within a few weeks of release anyway.

true in my case certainly - lol - it always comes down to the consensus (and how much attention the model gets from the repainting community) not attitudes.

That’s usually me as well. If the addon’s good I will get it, any personal differences with the developer aside.

if its decent and the price is ok, i get it.

As for all of y’all postulating that they’re releasing this instead of the DC-3 (IE: the DC-3 could be arriving next week instead if they wanted), the scope of building a C-140 in the sim vs the scope of building a DC-3 in the sim is probably… similar to the scope of building a C-140 and a DC-3 in real life. Bigger, more sophisticated planes take longer.

I’m happy to see any AH stuff. Been a fan since I downloaded their F3F back in FS2002 days.

AS far as this goes - these are a couple (among many) of their aircrafts I’d like to see in MSFS
Curtiss C-46 Commando

Lockheed Model 10A

I like the old twin prop planes - what can I say…

Is the C-46 really done by AH?
