Just curious: what are the main differences between flying the 33 and the Discus?
XBX X fs20 su15 - CRASH TO DESKTOP everytime, not good.
What phase of flight does this happen?
I expect there’s quite a lot - especially with the systems side, but certainly one is that the 33 is self launching if required, the Discus is just self sustaining IIRC.
5min after disconecting from wilga
update
funny thing on FAOI airport towing cessna got grounded twice on takeoff after treshhold when wilga ai did a good job
Im wondering how can i activate the TASK TIMER on the LX main screen so i can track how long my flight is ?
Just FYI, the Wilga tow plane crash is a known issue:
Ariel posted a bug report thread on this issue as well. That post can be found below, but is closed. Hopefully they repost it in the CTD section as requested so this can be voted on!
Please Gotfriends! You work close to MS/Asobo and you have to make them fix the mouse/controller bug that makes it IMPOSSIBLE to buy ANYTHING when playing this game (2020 and now 2024 too!) on an xbox console over xcloud!
I dont have access to my computer now so cant buy this plane! Its crazy! Got two xbox consoles infront of me but cant buy!!
Its been like this for years on 2020 and since the last update on 2024. Before the update you could basically not play the game because of basically the same bug, but you could buy on the marketplace, after update you could finally since the release of 2024 play the game without workaround, but then no more buying on marketplace…
Now I have to wait until I am at my computer again. Nuts!
I can do my best to relay the information, but as a partner we are more involved with new content creation and not bug fixes.
That said, if you explain it in more detail in exactly how you want it portrayed, I can forward it to the proper channels.
Is this in regard to using a mouse on the Xbox? I’m pretty sure you are able to do that.
Yesterday, I bought the AS 33 ME, for MSFS 2020 on Xbox; perfect. Today, I launched Xbox MSFS 2024 and it is not there as (disabled); On the store, Microsoft gives me the option, to buy it again (?!?) Courchevel is waiting for me only missing the sailplane.
Can anyone tell me, what is going on? Kind regards to all.
Dear Microsoft; we need to be able to add a flight task to the sim, when on the Xbox platform (maybe by Hotmail/Outlook email).
Hey did a console restart resolve this one? There is only one AS33 on the marketplace, its the same package so owning in one sim should give you it in both. Perhaps try signing in/out on your console to see if it wakes the marketplace up for your licenses in content manager.
Send them this. Thank you!
The short answer, when I try to buy anything it gets stuck right at the first window where I need to get a cursor, but its in mouse/keyboardmode, so cant do anything.
This is all playing over xcloud on a one or one x console.
And since it affects all content creators, MS themselfs showed that the marketplace on xcloud sells WAY less then other platforms, you should be aware of the reason this might be!
I have the same issue. Bought in 2020 but then when I get into 2024, it gives me the option to purchase rather than enable. Did you ever figure this out?
Unfortunately, no. Probably resolved next week; the data servers must be overloaded, with information.
The Courchevel Altiport is more detailed and the weather works better on the 2024 version; also nicer textures, on the mountains. The AS33 is a beast of a sailplane!
By the way; welcome, StereoBl1nd. regards.
We’ve received a few reports of this issue.
At this time, it’s unclear why it’s happening, as it’s the same product (SKU) on the backend. There aren’t two separate products — it’s a single, unified release.
We’ve escalated the issue to Microsoft and are awaiting a response.
For now, we appreciate your patience while we wait for Microsoft to investigate and resolve it. Thank you for bearing with us.

GotFriends - As33me - Alpha Binding - MSFS2020
With NO assigned Alpha Bindings, its physical ‘Strobe’ switch is controlling the cockpit’s ballast valve. I expect the strobe switch to control the valve only if I assign it.
If I then assign ‘TOGGLE WATER BALLAST VALVE’ to an elected switch on my Bravo. I find the cockpit’s 3 ballast valves all vibrate (visibly & audibly, as if being alternately turned on/off very fast) and the water trickles out as if half open. I expect my elected switch to cleanly toggle the valve, with no vibration. It’s looking like a ‘builtin’ conflict exists.
There is only keyboard, Alpha & Bravo devices connected. There is only one other assigned binding set & associated with water ballast,(the keyboard’s ‘Num1’).
Thx for update, currently for aerotow on xbox I have either suicidal cessna diving to the ground or wilga crashing the sim on landing
I just wanted to report that last night I was able to finally enable this in FS2024 after buying from the 2020 marketplace. I love this glider. Keep up the great work
After a little digging - I think I know what’s happening, for what’s its worth - here it is.
GotFriends in the doc say the ballast valve can be controlled via the (simvar) ‘Strobe Light’ or ‘Toggle_Water_Ballast_valve’
For the Alpha, With No ‘Assigned’ Strobe binding, in practice I find the simvar ‘LIGHT STROBE:0’ is practically mapped. i.e the msfs variable tracks the alpha’ strobe switch position. This suggests its ASBO that have made a mapping & not declared it on the Control Options page. The Taxi light is similarly bound. I say ASBO as the Alpha unit is just a USB device and knows nothing about MSFS Logic. Practically this means should I then explicitly bind ‘TOGGLE WATER BALLAST VALVE’ to a switch on a Bravo, I have set up a conflict!, even though its not displayed (or findable) in the Controls Options page.
It would suggest to me that these non declared (by msfs) bindings may potentially be causing other conflicts. In my case the problem is exacerbated by GotFriends declaring the ‘alternative’ strobe light as a means of control when there is a perfectly good variable ‘water ballast’. It looks like this is the only ‘dodgy’ alternate in the docs. I’m perfectly happy with hijacking a variable where no suitable on exists e.g. bug wiper to VOR identifiers.
