[RELEASED] F4F-4 Wildcat | Got Friends

will you have a few paint schemes out of the box from the Cactus Airforce??

there were some heroic Wildcat pilots at Guadalcanal, boys..
either way - by providing a decent paint kit, the talented 3rd party artisans will make it happen

Thanks can’t wait

When I get this, I’ll have to get the Lexington – and maybe the F6F.

It would be awesome if someone were to do a CV-6 Enterprise in the game.

to do it right there should be some CVE’s - escort or ‘Jeep’ carriers like the Casablanca
You want the challenge, friends - of getting aboard a postage stamp on a rolling sea

or the CVE-29 USS Santee with Wildcats on the deck in 1942

Oh, those gunfire effects…just stunning. You got me there.

Spectacular!
Isn’t there a way to make the shots have an effect on other F4F-4s, producing certain types of damage?

That is just amazing!

I’m certainly not installing this if it means seeing mulitplayer idiots strafing Heathrow on a regular basis. It is bad enough there already with multiplayer on.
Normally I am in the market for anything by Got Friends, but not this one. I’m with Microsoft on this, there are other simulators for combat scenarios.

Yeah, you tell 'em! Now instead of an F4F strafing Heathrow you’re going to see an A320 doing rolls and loops while strafing Heathrow. It’ll look so much better.

Fair enough - just to clarify, do you only see the effects from others when flying the F4F yourself, or is the switch persistent for when you are flying something else?

Given there are multiple effects in the plane, I assume you are only turning off the gunfire?

UPDATE:

  • We have automatically implemented this feature, manual toggling visual effects is not required anymore. These are core features and too complex to implement options within the multiplayer environment. If you do not want visual effects, you will be able to delete them from the community folder. Our release (if downloaded from the website) is 100% unencrypted.

So there hopefully wont be any actual interaction between effect users and those wishing not to interact? As in no one can shoot you down if you do not activate said effects? Or can you shoot down those willing to participate in said activities. Consentually of course

Exactly.

These are visual effects only and at this time, we do not have a combat system. We do not plan on adding one on release either. This is pure visual eye candy only.

Ok thank you as there is much speculation outside this forum
