Wait is there sand piled up in front of that left drop tank, like it dug into the ground ??
I mean, an orange cat is going to be flying mine, Unless Got Friends gets around to adding a MaineCoon…
Oh man…those were the days!
I still play CFS2! It runs well on my current desktop computer with Windows 10 and a GeForce card (I forgot which one) – way better than it ran in 2004 or so.
IL2 1946 still holds up really well for WW2 combat today. I gotta see if I can find a copy of CFS2 lingering around ebay, would love to have it just for the boxart.
Very much looking forward to this Pacific fighter, especially from a detail-oriented and responsive dev like Got Friends!
Selfishly hoping this will lead to some counterparts for it on the Japanese side, but I know the resources available to do so are harder to come by. (With that said, I do know of one unannounced project for a Japanese plane by another well respected dev that will hopefully come out in a year or so).
Team just spent the day overhauling textures, doing rivets, animating gears and chains in the landing gear bay. Little stuff the majority may never notice.. Will send some new shots of the project so far soon as well as a clip of the landing gear bay. You’re going to love it!

Development Previews:
It’s a been a little while since we posted an update here for everyone. We have been hard at work taking this old project and bringing it to our current standards. More details will come in the future, but for now, I would like to highlight some unique features that are available:
- Landing Gear and Cowl Flaps have both an automated mode and manual crank mode. If you want to crank that landing gear 29 times, you absolutely can!
- Prop-Strike Physics
- Bone Animated Elements like the Yoke, Rudder Pedals, and Chain Animations
- Gun Sight Visuals as well as an Alternative Gun Sight
- And More to Reveal at a later date!
For now, I would like to leave you with some previews. Keep in mind, everything is still very much a work in progress!
Absolutely gorgeous.
that gear animation is just… GotDetail
I don’t think anyone has said yet… but will it have a meter to keep track of flight time like Flying Iron has for their warbirds?
WANT! Want it real bad!!!
Will share this feedback with the team and see if its something they would like to implement.
I just wish it was coming to DCS instead of msfs
Everything looks excellent, great work to the dev team!
I remember when ‘Pacific Fighters’ the old IL2 expansion came out one of the features was when you ditched a Wildcat or other US Navy fighter in the ocean and pressed the ‘bailout’ key you got the aviator to appear in the inflatable raft next to the plane. Just an old flight sim memory - random - nothing to see here, move along now
Wow! That looks absolutely spectacular!
Can’t wait for this one.
