[Released] Hondajet for MSFS

No manual yet. The developer said on his discord that it’s on his list once he gets through some of the initial bug reports that are coming in and need attention. The discord site does have some faqs I think and a few folks posted up the POH.

Forgive my ignorance, what’s a POH?

Going to buy it, but does anyone know what’s up with the “shark tooth” edges around the front windshields? I know they are on the real plane as well…but why?

Maybe because it’s a baby shark dododo…

It’s windshield heating.

“Glints of gold run up the edges of the HondaJet’s outcurved windshields in a stair-step pattern. Catching to the eye, these shark-teeth like accents are charged – literally by electricity – with heating the windshield to give a transparent view forward.”

I’ve seen those “shark teeth” looking things on Citation Max YouTube before, and if I remember correctly, it had something to do with anti ice

Climb faster.

Yes. It’s been thoroughly worked out.

Is there a way to bind the checklist controls (up/down/check) to physical keys, either directly in the sim or using a tool like spad.next?

I appreciate your views but you made no mention of how well this aircraft integrates with home cockpits that many of us have. How are hardware bindings, control via sim connect, do any of the panels pop out and if so which ones etc etc.

All the pretty textures are all well and good but without home cockpit integration it’s meaningless for me and many others.

Bottom line is can it be fully operated without using your mouse.

I don’t imagine the majority of MSFS users has a home-built cockpit. On the contrary. When I see how many people are playing with only one joystick or even a game pad, and since MSFS has a totally different customer base than P3D, I estimate that far less than 5% of MSFS users have anything even close to that.

So IMHO it’s quite a stretch to expect someone who writes a short review based on his personal experience to take that into account. Even many “professional” YouTube reviewers don’t do that.

The AP currently not working with cockpit hardware as completly customised from the base sim.
The developer has moved this to a high prority for the next patch after todays update.

No one used the term majority. I was pointing out that this review and as you mention hardly any review ever mention that stuff. Most of the poor ones focus their attention on the outside texture quality. I mean what is really important. For me and anyone who cares about the simulation of the flight of an aircraft then the flight model and the systems of which the control of said systems forms a large part, should be the focus. So when reviewers fail to mention it then yes I think they are missing a major part of the sim experience.

I never listen to quoted figures unless they are fact so you quoting numbers is irrelevant because you don’t know any more than I do how many folks have a home cockpit. Basically anyone who has a controller with buttons or switches on it has the start of a home cockpit so to not mention how well even basic bindings do or don’t operate is I believe totally relevant to a large section of the community.

Sounds like a similar situation to the C414. Hopefully it gets resolved.

That’s not what you wrote.

With “without home cockpit integration it’s meaningless for me” you gave me the impression, that it’s the most important thing in a review how it integrates in a home cockpit. And that’s most likely totally irrelevant to the majority of people.

Also it seems that “home cockpit” is quite a wide area to some. For me a home cockpit is something closely resembling a real cockpit with custom built knobs, levers and instruments. Someone who uses the two Honeycombs or a few Saitek panels doesn’t count as a home cockpit to me and will easily be able to use the mouse to control what can’t be controlled with the Honeycombs or Saitek panels.

What’s the recommended trim value for takeoff in this aircraft? I find it really hard to get it off the ground, you have to pull the yoke back considerably to lift the nose. However, when it’s in the air it’s easy to control.

I’m sorry I gave the wrong impression that was not my intention. That statement is true but I never suggested the whole review was meant to focus on purely this and nothing else. I’m just asking all reviewers to consider how many folks have external hardware and software that they like to use to interact with the aircraft rather than have the janky mouse experience that is the vc. For all these users it becomes a major issue when the aircraft doesn’t play nice with their investments and so it should get some air time when these reviews are given.

I’d just like to say that although this discussion was started as a result of the mini review here this is in no way a dig at this particular review or reviewer per se but more a point in general about the lack of this in reviews in general.
