[Released] Hondajet for MSFS

Yup, second that - I spent a few hours reading POM and looking at some of the charts in the AFM. Not a pilot but knew a lot of the DC9 crews in past and I know just about enough to know that you have to fly a jet by the numbers and also know enough of the normal procedures - before you fly.
This is a beautifully modelled aircraft and a joy to fly. To land it is easy once you realise that minimal ( and I mean minimal) flare is used ( highlighted in the POM) or you end up floating down the runway for miles ( practical experience gained from my first attempt)

When I’m on FMS Nav mode and I’ve tuned the ILS in Nav1 radio (flight plan is set for the ILS approach ) I have the aircraft automatically switching to VOR mode on approach. I haven’t tried not tuning the ILS and seeing if it does that automatically.

I am quite enjoying this aircraft and it certainly fills a gap in the performance stakes for me, making longer trips possible within the limited time that I get. One thing that I really hope will be improved though is the core flight model. This is a 10 to 12000lb aircraft but seems to have very little weight or inertia about it in all three axes which does detract for me. For single pilot operation it is after all quite a big aircraft but doesnt feel that way for me anyway.

I am new to Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums and I love your Honda jet, I even bought one in the sim. The Honda Jet flies great, 5 stars but it could be improved. I have an Xbox series X and when I shut down Honda Jet engines it won’t let me move the thrust levers to cut off and I can’t figure out why. I even tried moving the thrust levers in cursor mode. When I started in my parking spot the thrust levers were in cut off mode. So there must be a way to move the levers to fuel cut off the engines.

In the PC version you can move the thrust levers back with the mouse. I thought I had read somewhere that there was also a way of doing this on the console version with the controller but I can’t recall the buttons you need to press.

Edit: from the discord apparently you press A once and hold RT to move the throttle to cut out or to back out. I can’t confirm this but it might be worth a go :slightly_smiling_face:

I haven’t noticed a issue. However, it’s still not clear to me if the WT mod does anything the stock modified G3000 doesn’t

Thank you!

No probs :slightly_smiling_face:

I tried it just now and it doesn’t work. The throttle will not go below idle.
When I start the plane with nothing turned on and the throttle is in cut off mode, I tried moving the throttle out of cut out mode by pushing “A” once and holding “RT” It worked, but to move it back to cut off mode I tried “LT” and it won’t move back to cut off. It just doesn’t want to go below idle. Any ideas on how to fix this?

If you have a mouse lying around give that a go.

I use a mouse with my Xbox and I’m able to manipulate the levers in/out of cutoff with it.

Here is a very quick start guide.

Battery On
Ground Power on

Both Battery power and GRND Power are below /behind the yoke. Make sure the Parking brake is set as the GPU is tied to that.

Set up the Load in the Right Lower Touch Screen
Press the start buttons below the 2 touch screens, Start the right side first wait until it has stabilised then start the left.

It is a very easy AC to start.

Here is a tutorial

I tried the mouse but it did not work.

Have to agree that the lack of MSFS checklist can be frustrating.

Although I love the add-on, and having an animated pilot means nothing to me, the developers have to understand this is a different audience compared to previous flight sims.

Purchase HJ sim for MSFS 2020. when trying to depart on the runway, when hitting 45-55knots, the aircraft crashes on the runway…
i don’t get it. i am a real pilot, took off hundreds if not thousands of times in real, and sim flights. what I can possibly do wrong?

Check that your flight model is set to ‘modern’ and not ‘legacy’ in the settings.

That is quite strange. I just tested it again to ensure I wasn’t dreaming.

Click and hold left mouse button and drag lever up to Idle detent and then click and hold left mouse button to drag it back down to cut-off.

It totally works for me.

I don’t understand.

Thanks so much for your detailed response. Very much appreciated.

I had a more detailed look for you on their discord. It’s not just you but others too are having a problem shutting down the engines with the xbox. Other suggestions were:

  1. Using a mouse to get the throttles to cut off or
  2. Use the ‘Fire Cut off’ (not ideal) or
  3. RB +D-pad

Again, these might be worth a go :slightly_smiling_face:

Cletus350z,
i just placed you on my last testament and will… great help, thank you

So is this worth buying ? I always like to support individual devs but I’m hearing conflicting reviews of this jet
