Anyone know how to turn off this big circle light? i checked and cabin and cockpit lights are off
is there a way to increase the screen brightness? as you can see in the screenshot they seem extremely dim (at 100%). are they like this IRL?
UPDATE: I believe it’s a big, as I went and fiddled with the display lighting (moved it up and down several times) and at some point it “snaps” and becomes bright, as you can see. so if anyone else is having issues with display brightness, just go move the slider around
Alright. I can’t stand it anymore, if you fly the HondaJet, Heads Up!
I’m gonna give you all the bird!
Stay with me now…
When in the cockpit, direct the focus on the Pilot’s side ‘Engine Fire’ light. Now, with the mouse, click just above it and just above the top of the dashboard.
His name is Jonathan…
As in ‘Jonathan Livingston Seagull’, Richard Bach. Good read.
You can thank me later… LOL!
Actually, his name is Roofus, per Marwan the developer. ![]()
I wonder how many other planes have hidden Easter Eggs than this.
LOL! I had to rename him, seemed more appropriate, if you read the book. It was an accidental find and I agree, there must be more, now I’m on a click and see mission. Who knows?
I wonder how many people have discovered him?
I guess this is rather off topic, but Jonathan should be in a Travel Air 4000 rather than the HondaJet
As in open cockpit? The only time his feathers are ruffled is on the taxiway (watch when ya take off), I think he likes the comfort of indoor seating.. ![]()
Agree, very disappointing that this doesn’t appear to have been addressed
There is an update in the pipeline, but no ETA yet. Hopefully there’s a good list of bugfixes, and I know Simbrief import and Charts are part of this, ala the new Visionjet update.
Many found him because he was in all the Launch streams … JP was one of the HJet pilots that was providing most of the data and information.. including audio and constant pictures/video from the cockpit..
Roofus was his and always was on the dash where you see him (when you click on that spot.. ) when ever he was flying an HJet.
Some flights in HondaJet, I have individual access to CDUs, but then other flights the CDUs are in sync. Is there a switch that take the CDUs out of sync???
In the Livery selection page, half the planes are named with “Lite”, and the other half are not. The “Lite” planes have mirrored CDUs, intended for lower-powered 'puters.
Today I had a flight where the landing lights were ON for the whole flight on its automatic setting:
I tried setting it to manual OFF then back to NORM but then it was on again. Any idea why?
The logic for both the automatic Landing Lights and Taxi lights is a bit sketchy, IMO. I prefer to handle the lights myself…it’s easy “muscle memory” from other planes. The GTC can do this (Off/On, avoid “Auto”) but I need to figure out how to use Spad.next to map it to my Logitech Switch Panel.
So far it has been the first time I’ve seen it to be wrong, so no complaints. I’d just wish I knew the reason, that’s all.
I’ve noticed that the Landing Lights turn on when I taxi near the runway for takeoff, so maybe that part is geo-based? I would think they’d shut off at 10,000 feet based on standard ops (for US, at least), but it might be worth posting this on the FlightFX Discord channel to see what the actual logic is. I can try to post this myself if you aren’t on Discord.
I think (don’t quote me) that if you map the usual light events via Spad (ie the standard profile for the switch panel) and have the lights initially set to ‘off’ rather than ‘auto’ in the settings, then you can control them with the switches. If you have them on ‘auto’ then when you flip a switch it will change the light state but when the next avionics refresh happens the light will change back to whatever auto thinks it should be.
I know it is kind of heresy to ask, but how does the post AAU1 Longitude and the HJet compare? I have put several dozens of hours into the HJet and I enjoy it greatly, but variety is the spice of life, so sometimes it would be nice to fly a bit quicker and greater range version of it… or would it? I don’t have premium deluxe, could someone who does answer? I’d really appreciate it, even if not in the topic, but in a private message to keep this here on topic.
The Longitude and HJet are both fantastic, IMO. Garmins are similar (though the Longi has Simbrief import and charts, coming soon to HJ). You get an APU in the Longi, so if you ever want to move to airliners, this is a good introduction.
There is no “standard” ops for this
it is a bit of a misnomer that there is no requirement for this.. some airlines do it but it’s not a US/Canada Rule.
All of the auto light operations are matched and verified by the operating pilots that were giving the support in the alpha phase.. one of which worked at JetIt at the time.
