I have this even while taxiing 20 kts. Always the same side. After doing a 180 turn, still the same wingtip near the ground.
Is the FMS always there or can it be switched off to get pure VOR/NDB navigation?
Thank you, yes, I saw that. But will they visually disappear? There is no screenshot in the manual showing that.
Yes. The ADF moves as well.
You could untick it and see
Ah, you are making a decision on whether to purchase or not, Iām guessing. The answer is yes, the cockpit will show just a bolted-on blank plate.
Just did a new trip in the Jumbolino. Quite unstable on takeoff now, at least the -100 But kept it on and had a nice flight. Was quite a lot of work with a lot of altitude restrictons. Keeps you right busy with no VNAV.
For the sake of clarity, this is what it looks like with no FMS -
Got some time to do a flight in the -200, had no problems with wings leaning while taxiiing, no twitchiness / difficulty taking off, moved around a bit more than I remember ( there is admittedly some weather here ), and the only problems I had landing were the FMS sending me way out of the way on approach which I must retest, and the PAPI at the landing field being off from the glideslope so I had no idea where I really was until the radalt started talkingā¦ but landed just fine anyway.
Edit: reflew the test route ( Filton EGTG - modded, but doesnāt matter for takeoff - to Exeter EGTE / ILS 08 ) in a -100, live weather as of now is a bit lumpy but not much wind.
- The a/c moved around in some ways I donāt remember it doing before - MSFS: JF 146, a little bump & grind - YouTube
Those little fast twitchy movements are something the other JF aircraft do, but Iāve not noticed the 146 do it before. The yaw damper seems to be tech too. - It loaded the approach via EX, sent me to the first waypoint in the approach correctly, and then tried sending me to Dartmouth, the next waypoint was way off to the south on a 22nm leg instead of 5 on the same course I loaded up the approach - actually all four versions - in a G3000 aircraft immediately after & they all looked right, so it doesnāt seem to be a navdata issue. The game map will only let me pick one approach but that one looks about right too. I did not, I have to admit, remove everything else Iāve got installed at the moment, so I guess one of the other WT FMS could be interfering somehow.
- I put it in the more reliable nav source mode ( ) and it captured the localiser & glideslope fine, and then had horrendous problems holding the glideslope, just continually going under & being bumped around a lot. The -200 from an hour or so ago didnāt have any of that trouble.
Edit: compare it to approach & landing on a gusty day in Birmingham in SU10 - MSFS JF 146-300QT full load, three engines, Exeter-Birmingham - YouTube - a lot of movement, but itās all swaying rather than jerking. No apologies for shoddy procedures, theyāre all listed in the description already
Today I made my first flight (tutorial flight) with it. This addon is amazing, also the manual.
Yep, this is the best fixed wing in the game for me. I never get tired of flying VOR-to-VOR in this baby. Textures, instruments, flight dynamics, options, manual, intro videos, support; itās just an all around excellent product.
Just Flight are a class act in this industry.
edit: And I should add that, as a rule, I dislike tubeliners quite strongly.
I also donāt use the FMS. Iām an oldstyle VOR/DME/NDB guy. And this bird has 2 ADFs.
Next will be the classic LOWI approach via RTT NDB. That NDB is just 10 miles from my house.
Once I have engaged SYNC mode on the TMS how can I clear it?
Either put it in another mode or turn it off. Sync just literally makes sure all engines are syncd to either #1 or #2 anyway, you can still move the throttles.
I found I can disconnect the TMS using the switch on the engine 1 thrust lever.
Sometimes the Pilot Callouts are not made. What reason does this have?
The callouts are based on triggers appropriate to each stage of flight.
See this thread - No Callouts | Just Flight Community
Thatās good to know.
However, I did not have callouts about catching a localizer and glideslope (LOWI East procedure LLZ/DME via RTT NDB). Those are not covered in that thread. Sometimes I have it, sometimes not (it captures anyway, though). Would you know why?
No, Iām sorry I havenāt any idea about that. I usually get āglideslope capturedā and canāt think of any time I noticed it was conspicuously absent.
I think I know why this happens. Callouts are missing when I train the approach by taking off at LOWI, climb to an altitude of 9500 ft and begin the approach.
If I come from, letās say LOWW, descending from a higher altitude towards RTT NDB, the callouts are done.
I randomly donāt get call-outs
