Managed to get a few things in - all sceneries are now converted to FS24 standard with procedural rocks, dirt, cracks, etc. which looks particularly great on these “rough desert airfields”. Also managed to get all the walkaround and actionable items in, and now looking at new AFCS/Flight Model improvements on fs24.
That being said, FS24 “Mission” content, such as firefighting and sling load missions are currently out of the scope for this update as we need to dig a little deeper on these new features (and I’ve not yet gotten my Helicopter Pilot license on career mode!)
Out of interest how hard is it to update the airfields? I have put a lot of hours into EGYP RAF Mount Pleasant scenery and will hopefully get it updated for 2024 providing it’s not too onerous!
Update sounds great, and fast!.
Will I be able to use the CH47 update to 2024 standard in the 2020 sim? … or does the update only add what is necessay to convert to 2024.
Miltech Simulations CH47D is now available for MSFS2024!
The FREE update is now available at Contrail, and will be available at ORBX in a few hours. At this time we do not have an ETA for MS Marketplace, as FS24 MP is not taking submissions. CH47 is now fully FS24 Native, meaning that the product has undergone full conversion to the new standards, LODs and leverages new FS24 features. The Walkaround functionality is now enabled, allowing interactive tasks like checking tire pressure. Additionally, all sceneries and missions have been upgraded and enhanced for FS24.
I couldn’t set any load weights nor passengers in the MSFS2024 EFB, whatever I entered returned to 0. Not sure if this is CH47 specific or general 2024 issue at the moment.
My windows were all frosted up and stayed that way until (I presume) the aircraft warmed up, nice touch and something I:ve not seen before as this was the first winter flying I’ve done in it.
Windshield Deice switches, near the Pilot Lights in the overhead panel will control window defrosting. These are only engaged when the aircraft is powered up.
Yes, the ORBX App will handle the installation of both versions (2020 and 2024) as two separate products. Users who purchased the 2020 version can upgrade to 2024 for free, but its handled as two separate products.
Contrail handles it differently - same product, two different simulator installs.
For those waiting on ORBX - CH47D for FS2024 is now available.
However, beware that ORBX handles it as a separate, new product - meaning that you will need to manually upgrade to get the product installed in FS24. Upgrade has no additional cost.
