[RELEASED] Mini-500 | Got Friends

Very nice hely indeed!
…Where’s that place…?

That’s a Land’s End (Longhips Lighthouse) in the UK (yes yes, US coast guard got lost  ).

Pretty sure I have some mods for there.

I modeled the ‘addons’ (lets call it that) on the Stealth livery because I was addicted to flying the littlebird in BF4. Nothing could turn the tides of a match more than destroying squads and defending against the attack choppers using the MH-6. Esp on matches that were smaller than 64/64 with terrible AA players. Quite literally the only thing that could stop a good littlebird pilot + squadmate with repairtool was a squad on the enemy team with stingers.

We’re chatting with HYPE to see if we can the whole effect going (exclusive to the webstore version ofcourse). Will share more if we ever get to that finish line. In the mean time, GotGravel has already begun work on his first implementation of VRS simulation. Excited for you all to check it out in the next update.

Cheers,

Nice review! I love his content.

Please don’t do a military jet! :stuck_out_tongue:

This is my favourite livery! Like a classic Lotus Type 49 F1 car!

Some other pretty shots I took

So ah, you’re working on a blowtorch model to replace the fire extinguisher, right? I mean it would be pretty wrong not to, right? It’s basically just a quick cylinder, right? Right?

I can’t turn on batterry and alt in wilga when i have installed this.

then just let the wilga’s battery die. you can jump start it

They should have no effect on each other. Are you using a different controller profile for the helicopters, and forgot to swap profiles when going back to the Wilga?

What you need is Auto Control Profile Switching. Coming soon to a profile near you!

OH MY GOD I WANT THAT RIGHT NOW GIMME GIMME GIMME NOW NOW NOW

(seriously!)

No. Even when i try to click it by mouse it doesn’t work. It seems aircraft has power but no switch animation. There is also problem with nav lights.

ah, I’ve heard of this before.
Go into dev mode, while loaded into the Wilga, use dev mode to swap to a different plane, then swap back to the Wilga.
That should hopefully sort it out.
Disable dev mode afterwards again if you care about your logbook/achievements

I am also having a bug with the switch animation in the Mini 500 since the last update. I don’t have the Wilga so that wouldn’t be a conflict on my installation.

When I click any of the rocker switches on the center console, they function, but the switch position doesn’t change.

This happens from time to time on the Wilga also. If you restart the flight it should clear up.

Is there a problem with my settings or is it just normal behavior for this helicopter to need plenty of trim before takeoff (see video)? I need to give seven short clicks of nose up trim otherwise the helicopter will make nose down crash. It would be much easier if it would just take off up when the trim is in neutral position… :upside_down_face:

EDIT 2023-03-01T22:00:00Z: As my life is full of problems  there is of course a problem with my video and the end is missing. Anyway, the missing part contains only my Axis and Oh’s settings for the helicopter (see picture).

What you’re experiencing is just the physics of a helicopter. Unless you have a helicopter with real fancy tech in it, it’s never going to lift off and hold a hover perfectly. It’s going to pitch and yaw and try to kill you. It want’s to kill you. You have to make it not do that.

Trim on this helicopter (like many helicopters) is fictional. Most helicopters can only be trimmed on the ground. From my understanding, Got Friends added the trim options to make it easier for those using controllers and such.

So, in short, what you’re experiencing is completely normal. You will have to use the trim if you want it to be more stable. The Mini is already one of the most stable helicopters I have ever flown without using any trim.

Thank you for highly informative answer, now I know it’s just something I have to handle (or die)!
