Need to make sure the min/max on the axis are correct (eg 0-100 for throttle - not done the others yet). Here is a list of scripts included if anyone is interested:
Awesome! I’m sure Guensli keeps adding scripts. His stream deck profiles are amazing and usually cover pretty much everything.
As for the LVAR naming mentioned by someone above: I would have preferred if they prefixed them with B247 or something. Also don’t like spaces in there but that may just be my personal preference.
I agree, spaces in variable names are not done in proper coding. And a prefix would have been nice indeed to directly see them when checking the variables in the sim.
But these are my main comments. This plane is very well done!
Just did the third trip. 140+nm. Zero issues apart from the fuel not started to go down until i swapped tanks about half way. Cyliders were cold and stayed cold even after leaning. But the oil was easy to manage and tbh engine management is a breeze.
Hmm… I’ve been trying for hours over two days to get this thing to start without much success. I was able to get number 1 going once immediately after reinstalling, but it quit after several minutes while I was trying to start number two. The one time I was successful was no different than any of the other times I’ve tried to start. I’ve been following the manual procedures without deviation and as far as I can tell, I’m following the exact same procedures shown in the video demonstrating start higher in the thread. I’ve got full oil tanks with SAE30W and OAT is 50 degrees F.
The one weird thing is that my fuel flow gauges vibrate (I see two needles in the gauge) even with the engines off, no flywheel winding, and no wobble pump activity. In the case of the one successful start I had, the left fuel flow gauge did not vibrate and startup was immediate when I meshed the flywheel during assisted start. In that case, it was my first attempt after uninstalling/reinstalling. Now my gauges are back to vibrating. If I disable realistic engine start, I can start the engines. Below is what my cockpit setup looks like as I’m priming. AFIK, I’m getting the full range of movement from the primer. I’ve also checked for rogue mappings around magnetos and found none. If anybody has any ideas, I’d appreciate it. I’m really scratching my head on this one.
Fill the fuel tanks from the Clipboard, not the sim’s Weights & Balance sheet. Check for rogue mappings for fuel cutoff valves, especially if you have any mapped to a controller, yoke/throttle quadrant, etc. Inside the cockpit, cycle the tank valve all the way around to be sure it’s getting set correctly.
My oil temp pretty much stays around 60-70 regardless of the oil shutters. My main management is keeping rpm around 1900 and MP just in the white. No engine failure with this following my first flight and an engine failure.
In that case try cycling the magneto switches, fuel tank selectors, and also the battery switch. There is an issue concerning save states between flights. They may not actually be reset. In the absence of that, it’d be hard to diagnose without a video.
Also, just to verify, have you pushed the primer pump in? I see it is pulled out in picture. It is a pump, so it only introduces fuel to the cylinders when pushed in. Try giving it 3 pumps and then leaving it pushed in.
Yeah, I just wanted to show it out in case somebody were to look and say it isn’t coming out far enough.
Ah wait, you were saying “battery switch,” and I was parsing that as “ignition switch.” The manual didn’t say anything about a master battery switch. I was expecting there would be one, but since it wasn’t mentioned in the start up checklist and because the panel lights were working I didn’t think to look for one. @OneFang666 mentioned it is red…Lemme go look for that in the cockpit diagram that and try again.
Yes! That was the issue. Finally saw it on the cockpit diagram. Either I missed it in the startup video or he turned it on early and I didn’t see it. Now things are working as expected. Thank you both for your help!
@GMVitus, please add “Turn on master battery switch (push down)” to the 8.1 engine start preparations checklist. That is a crucial ommision!
[EDIT]Still unable to get both engines started, and it appears from watching videos that the battery switch is not required. I must have gotten lucky with the left engine startup immediately after trying that. Anyway, I’m pretty sure I’m dealing with an add-on conflict or a bug; the fuel flow needles are vibrating all over the place when I use the wobble pump and I can’t get a steady reading from the LVAR.[/EDIT]
There’s two plungers to the left of the fuel tank gauges you have to pull out to see the fuel levels. It goes back down again so you have to pull them out to check again after a while. Also the right gauge is for both of the smaller tanks and there’s a switch to change which one is displayed.
