Reno racing possible cheat or network issue?

it showed results impossible from the capabilities of the plane, the server lag would show the result in accordance with where the plane could be.

And if we assume that this is a server lag, why we don’t see jumps in the opposite direction? did anyone see -10 seconds jump back near the last pylon at last lap from 1st place to 5th)) ?

this happens because the 1st lap starts from the 4th pylon, but the speed is sometimes calculated from the distance of the whole circle, 1st lap result always strange

I must say didn’t pay huge attention to it at the time i just assumed 1st lap would start as you pass the start finish gate.

it would make sense if no one else had reported the same player multiple times for similar issue in other races. We already know how he does it.

unfortunally, the rudder is plugged behind the pc under a desk, i can’t really unplug anything. I’d rather find the reason why it does that. if there is any.

I found a strange but very simple solution to the problem of locked pedals and throttle - just 1 right mouse click anywhere on the screen. Another one - locks back again \0/

Yes, made a bit of a mistake there. 12 second penalty.

Lucky me.

Have you worked out what prop RPM to use? Make sure you leave throttle full and just bring the prop control back. It will make you around 3 seconds / lap faster.

A friend of mine who flew real warbirds sent me some T6 documentations, he says that the normal RPM before overheating is 2200RPM on the real aircraft, i tried, and it doesn’t seem to help. i wasn’t able to beat my last time trial, so there’s no chance i can come close to yours anytime soon. I kinda mastered the biplane though, so i’m gonna focus on that one until i figure the T6

In the T-6 category I played on “Big Red” (because only in it the HUD does not overlap the RPM monitor), and it shows the best results at 2850-2950 rpm

2100 is the RPM you should aim for.

Incidentally, the T6s that have that multi display with RPMs around 3000 don’t seem to display an accurate RPM. If you look at the analog gauge, the RPM is actually in the low 2000s just like the others.

Thanks, will try it.

I must be missing something because even after watching the video (on my phone so, indeed maybe something missed) and reading through the thread I don’t know “how he does it” or what is being done.

And how do you inject yourself into a race that has already started having been started?

Strange, I can move the prop control in the AT-6 with my mouse but not with the buttons that I use normaly.
Furthermore this seems to have no effect on speed. (in RAR, in regular game it works fine)
Seems like it;s locked

It has been discussed in another thread

I have it on an axis of my joystick and just like the real plane, there is an optimal rpm that allows you to get some precious seconds out of the T6

Does MSFS2020 even have any anti-cheat countermeasures? I doubt it, Asobo should be careful getting into anything competitive and multiplayer. Not sure why some people always cheat with that stuff…

I suspect it is difficult to implement countermeasures as Reno is for large part built on the core game. It would be a shame if closing up the base game prevents the modding possibilities that make the game a nice platform to build upon.
In that sense there is a choice: develop and co-develop the game, or close it up for fair competitions. I sincerely hope the first.
