Requests for MSFS UK historic airfield ideas (1935 - 1945) by Time Machine Designs

Hi

Here at Time Machine Designs we are working on a detailed reconstruction of RAF Kenley, one of the RAF’s Fighter Command bases of the Battle of Britain.

RAF Kenley is the first of a series that currently includes Biggin Hill, Tangmere and Scampton.

However, we would like to invite you to nominate other historic airfields that you would like to see reconstructed in the sim.

Look forward to hearing from you all!

I’d suggest Mildenhall and it’s companion Lakenheath.

Tibenham, Old Buckenham - historic airfields, homebase for Hollywood actor James Stewart, but make a version for 2020 also…

Thanks, 8th Air Force fields are being investigated - both fighter and bomber.

And I have amended the topic title as we are aiming to build for 2020 and 2024 now that the topography is the same.

I was not aware of Weybourne but it looks like an interesting one to research.

I only know about it because I watched a guy on YouTube doing irl flying into it and he explained some of the history of the place was pretty cool

Plenty of visual resource at Seething Airfields 448th museum, so that would be quite an easy research. Free open day Oct. 5th…

I’ll go with RAF Defford for a couple of reasons.

It’s got quite an interesting history with airborne radar being developed and tested there, with a large roster of aircraft.

It’s got a great setting in the grounds of Croome Park, an estate designed by Capability Brown, close to the Malvern Hills.

I would like to see Hatfield restored, birthplace of De Havilland and so many famous aircraft, including the Mosquito, DH125, Comet, Trident and 146.

Thanks, that would tie in nicely with the release of the old Flight Replicas B24 Liberator (at least for 2020)

It is definitely on the list, as De Havilland are one of my favourite manufacturers and Hatfield is not far from where I grew up.

Definitely interesting, and as with Kenley it makes a real difference if there is a local heritage group that we can work with.

Awesome! Maybe when the 4th and 352nd FG were in residence during WWII.

I’ve done scenery for modern-day Tibenham, Seething, Ludham, and Deanland (mh747 on flightsim.to). It would be interesting to be able to compare and contrast!

I’d love to see Manston…

Love your versions, it would definitely be interesting to match different periods and approaches up.

I am waiting to see what the RAF Museum have in the way of plans so will keep you posted.
