Today received delivery of a RXT 4060 Ti 8Gb. Yes I know, rubbish, don’t buy, stupid person. Replaced my RTX1660 super and yes, very pleased with the three flights I’ve had since installation. Increased settings from medium to high, much improved visuals, very happy so far.
We haven’t all got $2000 to spend on a RTX 5090 cards powering 60 inch 4k screens in ultra settings.
By the way, my RTX 1660 super ran msfs 2024 pretty smoothly on medium settings on three 25 inch 1920 x 1080 screens.
so sad…for you…I guess. I also bought the 2024 AVIATOR EDITION SOFTWARE. I may have other games I play that need a 4090 or 5090. Personally, I started saving a long time ago for my upgrades. Even enough for a $3000 video card and a processor upgrade while at the same time sitting on a 7950X whilst testing a 9800X3D. Whilst my other machine(5950X, ASUS HERO and TUF RTX3090 is holding up the sim (DCS) for now. So many people are so consumed by what other people buy they find it necessary to make comments and insinuations about people they don’t know. Funny how it seems to be a European thing?? Good luck with your future purchases, whatever you can afford. PEACE
Nvidia App has “Nvidia Smooth Motion” popup it seems, wonder what is it for… Amd fluid motion frames?
Edit3: Hmm only for 5000 series gpus?! Why not 4000 3000 series?
Whether it’s demand in the face of less than stellar 50** series reviews or deliberate stock manipulation, none of the major UK outlets have any 4090’s available either. There are some on Amazon, but at completely ridiculous prices, 3-4k or more. Madness.
Yes, disappointing, but not surprising. Gaming media like GN linked above but also PC Gamer, Tech Power Up and other sites are all reporting the same - instant sell out of the 2 new cards, but likely that very low stock availability also played a part.
Personally it’s not an issue - my 4090 does a great job in 4K, and like the majority of MSFS users I’m right on the edge of being CPU limited anyway, so a new GPU is of minimal interest, and I guess the same for a lot of other FS users, who’ve had the last couple of years to get a 40 series card if they wanted one, but will all be more interested in CPU progress.
So is it just down to people still attempting to scalp / con the gullible (I notice there are LOTS allegedly available on eBay), or do users of other popular games really flock to update GPU’s at the earliest release of new kit?
Its not a very good move what nvidia has done. First the disappointing 5080, then the launch without inventory. Its the biggest company in the world but this brushes the trust in the brand for me. But as long as there is no alternative they are sitting on gamers gold.
I would like to see the results of 5080/5090 for MSFS 2024. If anybody was lucky enough to get a 5080/5090, please post your benchmarks for MSFS 2024 here, thanks!
