RTX 5090 Announced at CES 2025

I thought 1900eur would be 5090 range. Silly me

"Nvidia has called the RTX 5090 the most powerful GeForce GPU ever made and it has a price to match. The unit will retail for a staggering $1,999.00 (USD) / £1,595.00 (GBP) / $4,039.00 AUD.

Back in 2022, the RTX 4090 released at $1,599.00 (USD) but according to Nvidia, the new 5090 more than justifies the $400.00 jump."

Maybe the most artificial powerful making 4 frames out out of one, DLSS4.

Do tou think DLSS 4.0 could eliminate the bluriness of the instruments when figures are quickly changing for example ?

There is a 1% chance anyone is picking one up for that price in the UK.

The Founders Editions have always sold at RRP and I didn’t have too much trouble getting hold of either a 3080 or 4090 within a few weeks of launch.

Depends what the supply and demand situation is like, but I’m not interested this time round anyway.

Just to be clear, the new FG model isn’t the Multi Frame Generation. Here’s a chart showing how the new tech will be implemented through the multiple generations of GPUs:

$1999 is what Nvidia is asking, then add VAT @ 20% and the 5090FE looks like around £2499.

Did nvidia say “Retail”?

I thought those prices were what nvidia wanted. the government want 20% tax on top.

The UK price is including VAT.

Yes. I originally assumed the price on the Nvidia website to include VAT so I wrongly (?) thought the FE 5090 would be just under £2 k GBP.

I think £2500 inc VAT is the most I am comfortable with paying for a GPU so maybe a 5070ti or the AMD 9070XT might be the best way forward since I would be extremely lucky to get one at launch from Nvidia.

I think the most I am prepared to pay for the 5080 is about £1250 to £1300 too inc. VAT so that is probably unlikely to happen too.

I currently have a 2070 Super so looking on the bright side either the 5070ti or 9070xt should be hopefully a step up. There is also a small
chance of grabbing a 4090/4080/7900xtx at a bargain price but not holding up my hopes there either :slightly_smiling_face:

Multi Frame Generation Review https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/MhRK-OWZ0_8

Yeah this is like 4090ti and nothing else. Just hold on to your 4000 series cards. Gamers Nexus has efficiency charts. I am very disappointed. Time to find MSFS2020 MSFS2024 tests and wait for user tests.

Wow, I’m most surprised by how much the 3D V-Cache uplift is almost gone with MSFS2024, I assume due to the improved multi-threading.

PCIe 4.0 specs not a problem for RTX 50 cards, unless you are using risers https://videocardz.com/newz/geforce-rtx-5090-loses-just-1-on-pcie-4-0-x16-specs-but-pcie-risers-could-spell-trouble

Multi frame breakdown from Hardware unboxed was very good. Shines light on all that NVIDIA marketing bs. Definitely not an attractive product at this price. I am skipping unless it drops to at least what 4090 msrp was. See you in 2 years unless AMD comes up with something that actually delivers performance.

And who knows maybe they will enable frame gen for 3000 series also later? Same for multi frame gen for 4000 series? https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/uyxXRXDtcPA We will see, time will tell.. Maybe modders will do some magic work? https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/sScr8AcJPyw Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1ibf7ut/some_chinese_individuals_reportedly_cracked_the/

5090 meta review

Crazy to think that Nvidia just lost billions in one day for the very AI they are promoting, i think almost 20% of their value wiped out in one day.

They gonna have to start manufacturing alot more GPUs

They did not lose any money. It is the shareholders that lost money, not the company.
And even shareholders only lose money if they sell their shares now.

And it’s not the worth of the company that went down. It is the market capitalization that went down.

For a company like NVIDIA this has no real consequences. They are still strong enough to find investors.

Stock markets and share value jave luttle to do with the value of a company. It is gambling against the expected future profits.
And now a new player entered the room that is causing some gamblers to adjust their bets accordingly.

There is no loss at all. There was just a correction and it has no effect whataoever to the consumers.
