Yes, I remember. I will have that cleaned up in next update.
Hi.
The trees in the foreground shouldn’t be there, nor should the trees along the A44 on the right of the picture. The trees along Langford Lane (by the runway threshold) are also wrong, that is simply a hedge.
In this shot the auto-gen building is representing a hangar (that’s been built since the scenery was made) that is wildly out of place, as are the other trees you can see within the perimeter fence
Hope that helps!
Thanks
Hi Bijan! Here are the promised screenshots. Thank you very much for taking a look.
I think that the vegetation is still too colorful and sometimes too dense, especially in dry regions of the world (desert, steppe).

As you approach treeline the vegetration gets smaller and smaller, moving from forest, to shrubs to tussock/grasses in the alpine (like in that picture), but pretty much everything below 1000 meters or so is forest - miro and tawa, with even some beech in the southern part. It can actually be a bit dark and gloomy. It’s not 100% uniform, there’s a few clearings and regenerating areas where the trees aren’t fully mature, but oveall it should be forest, not shrubs below treeline and the montane.

Where is this?
SIM UPDATE BETA 2
Vegetation
- Fixed grass render distance
- Added one or two low to medium-height trees or bushes to most forest biomes to soften forest edges. While this may make the undergrowth appear denser, the change prioritizes the pilot’s perspective over a hiker’s view
- Higher ratio of deciduous species in Temperate_Mixed_Cities biome
- Moved Western Great Lakes forests from Deciduous to Mixed Cold North America
- Reduced ratio of Acer Rubrum Mixed Cold North America
- Moved Southeast US conifer savannas in Temperate_Evergreen_Cities Biome and removed any tropical look and feel tree in that Biome + reduced trees density and average height
- Reduced a bit dominance of Sylvestris for more pleasant forest overview in Conifer Warm Evergreen Biome
- Created a larger version of Artemisia for Steppe Biome to replace deciduous-look and feel species in that cold Biome
- Added a City Biome for Steppa Ecoregion for more deciduous trees than Semi-Desert City Biome
- Added some Deciduous Salix Cinerea to Steppe Biome
- Added a Biome for Canary Islands with appropriate altitude gradient
- Fixed too much vegetation at high altitudes in Moors Biome (Celtic broadleaf forests Ecoregion)(Vegetation detection need improvement in the future to be even more accurate)
- Created Conifer_Cold_CaledonConifer Biome for Caledon conifer forests Ecoregion with more accurate altitude gradient of trees (Vegetation detection need improvement in the future to be even more accurate)
- Fixed Cedrus Lebanon biome incorrect trees distribution. Reduced height of Cedrus. Reduced olea exagerated foliage ColorOffset desaturation and brightness
- Scrub, ScrubSmall, ScrubInsteadOfTrees and some other KH missing Biomes retrocompatibility
- Use of more appropriate Species to better stick to KH species size
- Slightly reduce size of bigger Artemisia models (also used in FS2024 biomes)
- Created small “variations” of Calophyllum, Senegalia and Eucalyptus for Scrub biome
- Fixed an exagerated yellowish Color variation on Senegalia
- Also added other missing KH Biomes to prevent later issue reports
- Fixed plants fading being too visible
- Split Mixed_Cold_AlpsAndPyrenees into one biome for Alps and one biome for Pyrenees to have a higher altitude limit of trees in Alps. The original deprecated Biome Mixed_Cold_AlpsAndPyrenees is now Fallback Biome (no Ecoregion associated) in case already used by 1st Parties
- Fixed a Flickering issue occuring on one Doulas Fir mesh
- Set more accurate biome to the following ecoregions :
- Pernambuco interior forests
- Maranhão Babaçu forests

- Fixed grass disappearing when they’re additional windows
- Fixed transitions between biomes were sometimes too abrupt.
- Removed grass, plants and rocks from tin’s blobs
Given all the vegetation changes in SU2 Beta… should we still use Season’s Enhanced in the Beta or remove it from community folder?
I’ve just gone through the changes introduced in Sim Update 2. It’s exciting to see the addition of new trees and bushes, which I plan to incorporate into my modification.
Although the update brings improvements, there’s still a long way to go. Sim Update 2 has yet to address seasonal variations in the Southern Hemisphere, spring season changes, farm plantations, and all the customizations I’ve implemented.
For a list of features and improvements my mod offers, please refer to its description.
I wish I’d read this last night as I did the cash on delivery order for the update. I thought my original download link expired after 48 hours. ![]()
Indeed the SU 2 beta significantly removes/corrects trees on the Canary Islands, however Bijans mod still makes a lot of sense in other areas, e.g. in Africa, southern hemisphere and around many airports, to give just some examples.
It really depends where you are flying.
I was just more concerned with any initial compatibility or issues with SU2. I am a big fan of his work.
It works well. I’ve been flying around all day with it enabled, and there are no issues; if anything, it just adds to the proper density and new areas filtered by SU2. My hometown in the Dominican Republic now has a lot of extra clearings that used to be forests in SU1, even with the mod, and now are crop areas like IRL. So now its even easier for Bijan to work out whats what without having to redo the whole thing. ![]()
Do you have any idea how long it’ll take to incorporate the new flora into your add-on?
Great to hear that. Thank you for the report.
I will be releasing V2.4 tomorrow and then work on incorporating new changes in SU2 beta with Seasons Enhanced. I cannot say how long for sure but I am thing about a week or so. I will keep you guys updated.
Thank you for providing the screenshots.
Sim Update 2 has introduced new vegetation, opening up new possibilities for me to work with. These changes will enable me to add more variety and improve color variations based on the terrain colors, ultimately enhancing the overall visual experience.
Yes, thank you. I will create the exclusion are in V2.4. Let me know if that works since I won’t be able to see it.
It will be released tomorrow.
Perfect. I’m away flying later today so depending on a couple of factors I may be home tomorrow, it may be Saturday. I’ll look as soon as I can though, thankyou.
Sounds very promising! And Sim Update 2 seems to greatly reduce the density of vegetation. I also installed the beta yesterday and looked at Alice Springs and Kos as a test. The vegetation is significantly reduced. Combined with your addon, we could soon have beautiful landscapes in MSFS 2024.![]()
Yes, I can now use 7 more types of plants; in addition to what is being used in SU2; to make the scenery blend better. These new vegetations will help me make the tree colors look more real that blends better with surrounding areas.
