Servers Down - Stutters - Connection Issues [June 2024]

This early morning (Italy) I downloaded some add-ons, when yesterday it was impossible to do.

There“s nothing wrong with cloud gaming nor with using it for MSFS case. Many industrial applications work on the cloud as well, even ones handling safety related aspects. However you need a reliable infrastructure for that.

This is what is missing in our case. Client-server connection needs gaming services. That“s the first weak point and the one having most outages per year, even if game servers themselves are also not as reliable as they should be for a 24/7 application like ours. You can“t pretend to put bicycle wheels on a Ferrari and still sell it and use it as a Ferrari.

Cheers

Hello @SergeantXA320,

This issue is usually related to an authentication problem. You should be able to resolve it by either rebooting your PC or logging out and back in to the MS Store and Xbox app for PC. Please see this Zendesk support page for more info:

https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015985699--Please-insert-the-Microsoft-Flight-Simulator-Game-Disc-Error-message

Thanks,

Still having connection issues here in the UK using Steam.

I’m able to fly but am getting connection error messages, then connected successfully messages, that appear constantly.

This is combined with scenery that resembles FS98 in quality!

This has been happening for the last week for me despite having 300+Mbps internet.

Heeeelp!!!

Really, thank You for this answer and your efforts! Appreciate that.

But fact is, that many of us are playing around since more than a month now. I know all the tips and tricks and tried everything. I am an IT professional and was always able to solve the problems. BUT it is extremely annoying and frustrating to have to fiddle around in MS Store, XBox App, having to reboot, keying in things on the commandline and so on. These problems have to be solved. MS Store, XBox App and MSFS are not playing together.

BTW: this time it was easy. Signing out of MS Store and XBox, rebooting, then there was an update today (NAV data) and it worked again.

I am just writing those comments to make the team aware that there are unsolved problems.

Hi all here!

I see this problem since two days in the German Outback (Germany - southwest state of Baden-Wuerttemberg near the famous Titisee).

Any help?

Thanks a lot!

Just wait till 2024 is released. It’s even more server based. Oh joy, buckle up, its gonna be even more fun. lol

Which might explain the current FS2020 server issues.

They’ve got to test FS2024 sometime and somehow and this is probably not coincidental.

Ive said it once before and I’ll say it again. I cant for the life of me understand why Microsoft didn’t release a stand alone version, install it and forget it. Then you can buy addons for it later. Having a SIM that’s constantly connected to a server never made sense to me, I just don’t understand this and never will.

UPDATE: I’m getting lost connection issues, must sign in issues, must be online issues, getting stuck on press any button to continue issues, I had 1 CTD thus far and all this since that NAV data update. I’m so frustrated right now I almost threw my console across the room. It used to work just fine…What happened…?

Now I cant get past the press any button to start…this is my 3rd try. :rage:

I suspect that a stand-alone version would need a massive amount of disk storage, to hold the world’s scenery, at a level of detail that would satisfy MSFS users.

Until multiple petabyte storage becomes affordable, I suspect that some form of cloud-based server storage is going to be necessary.

Not just outback - Stuttgart, too. Getting INSERT DISC error. But services appear to be up and running. Any change on your end?

Well, they closed my bug report as solved and marked postings as flagged by community. MSobo does not help us in this matter. Face it. This thing is broken. It seems to be a problem with Gamin Service they can’t solve and shut down people. Also they tell us that it is a known problem linking to completely different tickets. This post will also be flagged soon.

Nice way to handle customers MS!

I’ve been having the same ā€œBandwidth too lowā€ issue also - what is the plan for this to be resolved? I haven’t been able to fly in the sim for a couple of weeks now…

Suddenly the sim stutters again trying to load bing scenery (even in medium setting).

Update: Even in world map now.

No bing map data today. Everything is in offline texture, including when I load a flight. Plus the license warning is back.
