Several Planes: Autopilot loses track of already captured LOC and/or glideslope (PS5) (Cessna Citation Longitude, Boeing 737 Max 8)

.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

On the Cessna Citation Longitude the autopilot loses the when already successful habing captured ILS Localizer / glideslope and being correctly on the way to the landing runway…

I had it two times today: The plane was already correct aligned with the runway and LOC mode was engaged. Suddenly the AP switched back to Pitch/Roll mode.

The second time it happened, I was on the localizer, correctly alligned and already following the glideslope downwards for a while…. Suddenly LOC and GS disabled themselves. The Autopilot went to Rol/Pit by itself. I did no control i puts in that moment.

PS5

Update: Did two ILS flights today. Same again. Correctly captured localizer got lost before and after glideslope capturing and went back to Rol/Pit

So it wasn’t a random event. There is sth. wrong with the longitudes’ Autopilot.

Update: Today I lost the already captured localizier while my heading was completely matxhing tthe heading of the runway. So it’s definetly not tied to getting on the localizer in a suboptimal angle. No, you even lose the LOC lock, after following the LOC already for a while.

Had it again today in carreer mode. Went down the glideslope to Santiago de Cuba (ILS 10) and lost the LOC and GS Lock about 1000ft above ground (approach mode disabled itself) - twice! Re-engaged the approach mode and locked again… and lost ot again… re-engaged…. Then I came down through the clouds. Please fix this.

Thanks for the report! Tracking this to see if others can reproduce. If so we will get this logged.

Might be tied to the avionics crashes on ps5… or a single issue. Currently hard to differentiate.

Had this issue also in Boeing 737 Max (Standard plane) on PS5. Maybe it is related to the avionic crashes, that happen to that plane too extremly…. Could also be an issue on its own…

I lost the lock on a glideslope which i have already followed down a whole part of the way. There was no stwering interaction that could have let to a disconnect. I just waited and I lost the track.

Can confirm, that thw issue on PS5 happens as well to the 737 Max that is included in the game (non-add-on).

Advice: Assign a keybinding shortcut to “enable approach mode”. Otherwise you will get annoyed, if you lose the glideslope lock two times in a row way down to the runway.

Added the 737 tag to the thread. It happened on every flight with my 737 max 8 today. On some approaches I lost the glideslope at least twice. This is so annoying: You are captured to LOC and GS und suddenly the approach mode ends itself and you fly straight ahead. You can only nose dive or do a go around.

Same today with my cessna citation longitude today… sigh… this needs a fix, please.

Dear Mods, can we please get a feedback logged for this thread and an internal bugticket, please? @Chewwy94 issue via vote confirmed by 4 people.

Changed topic name, as the 737 is as heavily affected as the Cessna Citation Longitude. I guess it is not just those two planes. I guess something with an underlying AP mechanic crashes / is broken. Did yesterday two 737 flights, it happened in both (Carreer mode, 4h flight without skipping)

Additional Info:

Today the approachmode did disable itself, while just being armed and not yet active on my 737 in careermode. I was on approach to Oslo, coming from cyprus. I was ready to capture the loc & gs, and set the app mode. After few moments the white (armed) LOC and GS disappeared from the PFD without any user interaction.

So it does not seem to having to do with the localizer or glideslope sender. It seems that the approach mode crashes even if it is not active and doesn’t have anything to calculate at all yet.

Observed on 737 Max 8 and Citation Longitude on PS5 in carreer mode.

@ModsMods: Please create an internal ticket for reproduction, as this topic has already several votes.

Additional Info: Yesterday I had the approach mode crash / selfdeactivate even while the approach mode was just armed and the LOC / GS was not yet captured. The white LOC and GS signs in the pfd just disappeared by themselves. It just self-deactivated without any (!) user interaction, which should not be the case.

Unfortunately I cannot recall if it was the Boeing 737 Max or the 747-8.

I’ve encountered this same issue. PS5 career mode, VIP transport employee mission, on the PC-12 on ILS 04R into Nice (France) had the approach mode disengage twice while established on Loc and GS.

Exactly this issue. I added your pc 12 ngx to the tags of the original post.

Please mods, please create an internal bugticket.

We on ps5 can not participate in the beta: Is it going to be fixed in SU5? Can anyone of the Beta testers say something yet?

Get the same issue on the PS5 with the Cessna CJ4, Pilatus PC-12 and 24, and also with the Cessna Longitude and Vision Jet,…

Added your PC 24 and Vision Jet as tags.

Added also the Cessna 208 Grand Caravan, as it happened to me as well today in carreer mode with the MedEvac Variant.

The Cessna Citation CJ4 has the issue too. Had it todays several times. APP mode cancels and falls back to Roll/Pitch and ALT, even when the LOC and GS were already locked and beong followed halfway down.

Please, dear moderators. Please log this issue internally. Today there was no flight without the aprroach mode randomly disengaging itself on every plane with which i tried an ils approach. Please create an internal ticket.
