Severe Problems on Xbox After Sim Update 9

The Start Video lag since wu9

Noticing worse than usual stutter for me last few days, and in particular at high altitude

I just did a flight with Concorde from Taiwan to Philippines, the sim crashed three times at the airport prior to take-off. On the 4th attempt it was stuttering heaps at the airport, but managed to get off the ground this time. Mid flight was absolutely fine with no issues, then the game crashed on approach into Manila.
Has anyone asked Asobo nicely to please stop doing updates?? Just leave it as it was…if they can’t release a reliable update then don’t even bother! I can deal with random ILS issues, I can even just about deal with the same voice for every ATC and aircraft, but a frame rate of about 5fps makes the sim pretty much unplayable

Good point. I’ve never really looked into the video settings on the Xbox but thought that the resolution could be adjusted just like on a PC. I guess the different reports I’ve read about better sim performance when switching to 1080p were placebo effects.

we should they stop making updates to accomodates a portion of users? There’s a lot of xbox users that runs the sim just fine so why would they stop progressing, it doesn’t make any sense

Every update that is released recently causes major performance issues for the majority of Xbox users, in most cases rendering the game unusable (at least going by discussions on here). It seems Asobo are happy to just release these mandatory updates and eventually deal with the aftermath after the backlash.
What makes the situation more perplexing is that all Xbox users are using the same hardware, but as you say, some are having no issues where for others the game is unplayable.

this we don’t know if it’s the majority or not, that’s my point. Only people with issues write here, other hardly post anything if it’s all good for them

don’t want to argue but it sounds like a post i read today about a guy with a 10 yrs old pc that didn’t run well and asked for stop updating the sim, which obviously makes no sense at all

We don’t need to know: if only there would be two customers (on either Xbox or PC) that have constant crashes and display black outs MS/Asobo would have to care about and fix it. Unfortunately they don’t seem to care at all.

Some good discussion in this thread although some of the hyperbole seems a bit OTT. Unplayable? Really? I’ve been having smooth flights on Xbox Series X, although I’ve had to turn traffic settings down as a result of the FX glitch mentioned earlier in the thread.

I assume that users who are still experiencing black screens, and who wish to see it fixed, have responded to Asobo’s request for help (made in the relevant thread in the bugs area of the forum) with the information and user details requested? The fact that they made this request shows that they definitely do care.

For those who missed it and want to help, here’s the post from the devs requesting people’s assistance with the black screens issue:

I got an update of 1.51GB available just now. Any word on patch notes or something???

I think the patch is just for the tutorial issues, as per release notes:

Ah ok thanks for the quick response. Was hoping for other fixes, but well. ThxšŸ‘

Heya ,thanx for your reply,i just returned to MSFS after a two week break.

Nah,im not interested in making any adjustments ,i just expect it to work,i guess im being unreasonable or too demanding

I tried a few approach landings today as i wouldnt even attempt a proper short haul flight due to ctds etc . The first two approach landings were smooth, but the third one ctd literally 1 second before hitting the tarmac :cry:

I think ill give it a two month break now instead of a two week break ,perhaps the sim will perhaps hopefully be working by then :crossed_fingers::folded_hands::victory_hand:

& whats up with the spaceship ,its becoming too unrealistic for me ,maybe better suited for halo or msfs 2050 ,can they focus first on giving us something more realistic like a A350 with liveries instead ?

I think this is MS server-side problems. I never get CTD fly every day but this morning during a flight i got a blue screen i NEVER ever have gotten a blue screen before been flying the sim since it came out.

Did a reboot tried again this time got CTD this never happens so it must be on the MS side of things there can be no other explanation I’m in Florida

Same here in UK on Xbox S. I have hardly had CTD but flying the Hondajet I just had 2. One at LSZA after cold startup as I was lining up on the runway to take off. Rebooted and launched from the runway, had a decent flight over the Alps towards LOWI where I had a 2nd CTD short of the runway… Hope it is a bad server case…

I’ve had this same issue occur multiple times. A work-around I’ve found(that works for me sometimes) is to load up a different airport and do the same thing(pan around and start the aircraft), exit and go back to the original airport that caused the CTD.

Computer guys like to mention the ā€˜upscaling’ thing, but at 4kHDR you can put your face right up to a 55" monitor and the detail on the panel is excellent. At 1040 it looks like xbox 360. I’m not sure if it’s monitor envy or what, because most computer systems seem to be mired in the ancient small-monitor world. Don’t see many running 55"s right behind the yoke with perfect imagery, usually some wee 30" thing at best. On the 'box it looks great when the screen is close enough you have to physically turn your head to look up to the corners of the ā€˜monitor’.

I must admit, I bought a 32" 4k monitor and the picture is excellent, I have it just ahead of the yoke setup, but yes its too small and will be looking at a bigger one soon I think.

Main problem (on XBox at least) with a bigger screen is the fact that the field of view is not increased matching the size of the screen and unfortunately there’s no option (yet?) to hook up a second display to either expand the field of view and/or move the info-windows out to it to at least reduce the cluttering a bit.
